Description

Minimum Essential Requirements

To research an automated, fast, and accurate mass-sorting of fabric by material composition, spectroscopy is an emerging technology. This innovation would accurately identify textile waste for sorting to allow for further recycling processes.

To conduct this research, GBC requires a Spectroscopy System, which must include 4 major components: i) sample system, ii) spectrograph system, iii) spectroscopy camera, and iv) software. The system must operate in the short-wave infrared (SWIR) wavelength range of 900-1700 nm to allow for textile identification and must meet the specifications listed.
