011216 - Destination Wayfinding Project Phase 1 Feasibility Study and Wayfinding Strategy

Ottawa Tourism is leading a multi-stakeholder initiative intended to improve the pedestrian wayfinding in Ottawa-Gatineau. 
There is a tremendous opportunity to create a 'legible' city that will help to improve the functionality of the city’s streets, clearly define the Ottawa-Gatineau character, and promote its continued economic vibrancy and competitiveness.  A 'legible' city gives people the confidence to move around the city and adds economic vibrancy to the destination.
To this end, Ottawa Tourism is seeking to engage a qualified multi-disciplinary consultant team specializing in the design of wayfinding systems to conduct Phase 1 consisting of essential pre-design research, consultation(s) and analysis including the development of preliminary conceptual directions and design criteria.  In addition, the consultant must conduct financial analysis and prepare a wayfinding strategy outlining the on-going management and revenue models of this new pedestrian wayfinding system.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for the work required for Phase 1 ONLY. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be detailed and contracted separately following the completion of Phase 1.
