Description

Mount Royal University is updating the structured cabling in the main Data Centre to accommodate new network architecture. The new architecture will utilize a three-cabinet pod distribution approach, where the central cabinet contains the active switch gear with distribution to all three cabinets within the pod. There will be a fibre cross-connect cabinet where all fibre connected cabinets are terminated allowing a single cabinet within a pod to cross-connect to any other pod or with the redundant spine cabinets in the data centre, to the campus network and to the wide area network. The spine switches shall be located in separate assigned cabinets which will themselves have an appearance on the cross-connect cabinet.
MRU IT Department will be physically connecting the structured cables to network devices.
Included in this project is the requirement to provide structured cabling from previously existing fibre termination points (also within the Data Centre) to designated cabinets to allow patched connections from legacy infrastructure to new Campus Core switches.

There is a possibility for a “Project Management” services, the project is in conjunction with MRU staff.
