Description

As innovation, automation and ESG change the nature of work for Canada’s mining industry there is a need to update MiHR’s existing NOS for Underground Miner, Mineral Processing Operator as well as develop new NOS for Drilling Disciplines.

Prior to updating the NOS, MiHR and their NOS Development Committees need to have a comprehensive understanding of how innovation, automation and ESG are changing the nature of work for production level workers, specifically Underground Miners, Mineral Processing Operators and Drillers in 2022 and moving forward.

MiHR is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to research and provide a report on how trends in innovation, automation and ESG are impacting the skills and tasks for production level mine workers, specifically Underground Miners, Mineral Processing Operators and Drilling positions.

Directives additionelles d’appel d’offres

Proposals are not to exceed six pages excluding appendices, although bidders are encouraged to keep appendices brief. Bidders are requested to submit an electronic version of their proposal (in English) before 16h00 EST on August 26, 2022 to lbriglio@mihr.ca

All proposals must include the following mandatory requirements in order to be accepted into the evaluation process:

• The bidder’s contact information including address, telephone and e-mail address; • Corporate Status (individual or incorporated);

A detailed technical proposal that demonstrates the bidder’s understanding of the work to be undertaken and its ability to perform the work including:
- A detailed work plan,
- Work breakdown structure,
- Key milestones and deliverables,
- Detailed budget including per diem rates and level of effort for all resources assigned to the proposal,
- Risk and risk management plan, and
- Project management methodology.
Detailed description of experience including the names of proposed resources that will be assigned to the work project with a summary of their related experience and/or a list of sub-contractors and their experience, capabilities and degree of involvement in this project.
References from three (3) clients within the last five years. Bidders are requested to provide for each reference: company, address, contact, title, telephone number, date when work was undertaken, and nature of the assignment. References will be checked as part of the selection process.
