MiHR is requesting proposals from qualified consultants for the development of training for MiHR’s Underground Miner and Minerals Processing Operator:

Using MiHR’s Underground Miner National Occupational Training Standard’s (See Appendix B - Underground Miner National Occupational Standard) develop a training package for the required learning outcomes and objectives that are specific for the Underground Miner occupation (See Appendix A – Cross Occupational Development Structure).
- There are 33 lessons to be developed or adapted for the Underground Miner occupation:
  - 16 new lessons for Underground Miner
  - 17 lessons to be adapted into the Underground Miner training package from MiHR’s existing Diamond Driller training, if needed.
Using MiHR’s Minerals Processing Operator National Occupational Training Standard’s (See Appendix C - Minerals Processing Operator National Occupational Standard) develop a training package for the required learning outcomes and objectives that are specific for the Minerals Processing Operator occupation (See Appendix A – Cross Occupational Development Structure).

There are 12 lessons to be developed or adapted for the Minerals Processing Operator occupation:
- 4 new lessons for Minerals Processing Operator
- 8 lessons to be adapted into the Minerals Processing Operator training package from the Diamond Driller training, if needed.

Using MiHR’s Underground Miner and Minerals Processing Operator National Occupational Training Standard, there are 6 Learning Outcomes and Objectives that are common to both training standards. An additional 6 new lessons are required to be developed for these common learning outcomes and objective. These common lessons will be incorporated into both trainings packages and adapted (if needed) for occupation specific requirements. (See Appendix A – Cross Occupational Development Structure).

The National Occupational Training Standards are informed by MiHR’s National Occupational Standards (NOS). The NOS for Underground Miner and Minerals Processing Operator were recently reviewed by a committee of subject matter experts. The committee recommended some changes to the common competencies which have been reflected in the NOTS for both Underground Miner and Minerals Processing Operator.
- Review MiHR’s existing Common Competency Training material and update and adapt, if needed, to ensure the learning outcomes and objectives reflect those in each of their respective National Occupational Training Standards.
Create both the Underground Miner training and the Minerals Processing Operator training package based on the same modular approach used in the existing Common Competency Training (See Appendix D – Example of the Common Competency Training - Module 1) including the following materials:

- Facilitators Guide
- Participant Workbook
- Handouts
- PowerPoint
- Quizzes

Review and update both trainings based on evaluation of pilot deliveries (time permitting).

The consultant will use the validated National Occupational Training Standards and examples of existing training materials as a reference.
