PURPOSE OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFIED SUPPLIERS:
A Request for Qualified Suppliers (RFQS) is a method of supply used by Manitoba Hydro to procure goods and services as and when needed.
This RFQS establishes a two-stage procurement process. The first stage is the identification of Qualified Suppliers for specified categories of goods and/or services and the award of a Framework Agreement to each. A Framework Agreement is not a contract for the provision of goods and/or services. It sets out the process by which the contract will be created and the contract terms and conditions that will apply. The second stage of the procurement occurs as and when Manitoba Hydro requires goods and/or services. Manitoba Hydro will issue a request to Qualified Suppliers and those interested may submit a proposal. After evaluating proposals, Manitoba Hydro may issue a Service Release Order (SRO) which is a contract for the provision of goods and/or services.
Manitoba Hydro may revise the Service Categories and/or the specific goods and services based on operational requirements. Existing Qualified Suppliers will not be required to requalify but may apply for qualification in any additional or new Service Categories.
