Shared Health intends to award a contract to Ortho Clinical Diagnostics as the OEM for the dry chemistry micorslide & microtip reagents, and all related consumables, accessories and spare parts, and equipment maintenance and software services required. Shared Health is seeking to enter into a short-term agreement for dry chemistry microslides & microtip reagents, calibrators, consumables and post-warranty maintenance service. This interim arrangement will sustain standardized patient clinical testing during the ongoing health system clinical transformation and planning that is underway in the Province. The ability to enter into an interim arrangement will leverage the existing instrumentation for the remaining expectant lifespan and maximize the current capital investment in equipment.
It is the intent of Shared Health to issue a full and open competitive process (Request for Proposal) for a future Provincial replacement of instrumentation once the provincial refresh strategy has been further developed.
