Red River College manages 1,884,325 ft² of property, of which approximately
1,772,000 ft² is owned space.  The properties range in age from 56 years old to properties constructed in 2018, including some still under construction.  The owned buildings are distributed over 2 major complexes in Winnipeg, plus an aviation training facility located adjacent to the Winnipeg International Airport and a facility located in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, approximately a 90 minute drive west from Winnipeg.
 
To date, a comprehensive Facility Condition Assessment has not been performed on College owned properties.  (A Building Audit was completed in 2007 on some of the College properties, but it was not comprehensive in nature) In addition, 1,200,000 ft² of property was previously owned by the Provincial Government of Manitoba, and was transferred to College ownership in 2016.  No Capital Planning process or documents were transferred with those properties at that time.
 
As a result, the College seeks to partner with a vendor who is able assist the College to assess the facilities currently in its portfolio, develop a prioritized capital plan for the repair, refurbishment and upgrading of College facilities, and provide meaningful benchmarks with data from other similar institutions to support current and future capital funding decision making.
