REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF A NEW FISHWAY
AT FAIRFORD DAM

Manitoba Infrastructure (MI) – Water Management Engineering and Construction Branch is inviting qualified Engineering Service Providers (ESP) to submit a proposal to undertake Professional Engineering Services to complete preliminary design of a new fishway for the Fairford Dam. The assignment includes, but not limited to, the following:

Analyze alternatives to improve connectivity and fish passage at the Fairford Dam
Assemble hydrological information for use in the preliminary design
Perform preliminary hydraulic analysis and design
Complete geotechnical investigation and analysis
Undertake structural stability analysis (for all applicable alternatives) to assess impact on the dam with the proposed alternatives
Identify right of way and utility requirements for the alternatives
Identify environmental impacts and mitigations for the proposed alternatives
Identity construction requirements
Include considerations for public safety
Evaluate the proposed alternatives and recommend the preferred alternative
Perform preliminary structural and geotechnical design for the selected alternative.
Prepare preliminary design drawings for the selected alternative
