The project is to rehabilitate and extend the runway strip; construct drainage ditches; install new culverts; and construct new apron, two taxiways and vehicle parking area at God’s Lake Narrows Airport, God’s Lake Narrows, Manitoba. The work generally involves the following:
A. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION
Mobilization of equipment and materials to site, delivery and placement of field office, traffic control, surveying and layout.
B. CIVIL WORKS
Clearing, grubbing, drilling, blasting and crushing to supply, stockpile, haul, place, grade and compact granular base and sub-base materials for the rehabilitation and extension of the runway strip; for the construction of new taxiways, apron and vehicle parking area; for the installation of granular French drains; and for the construction of concrete bases and granular foundations. Excavations, backfilling, surface preparation including installation of both woven and non-woven geotextile fabrics. Application of fine preservation agent on surfaces of the runway, new taxiways and apron. Construction of drainage ditches which includes blasting of bedrock; installation of new culverts; and installation of erosion and sedimentation control measures. Crush, load, haul and stockpile 10-year supply of traffic gravel “D”, maintenance gravel for use at the airstrip.
C. ELECTRICAL WORKS
Installation of temporary runway lighting system and replacement of illuminated wind cone with solar LED illuminated wind sock. Removal of existing runway lighting system.
