This bid opportunity is open to all interested suppliers. This is Part One - Prequalification of a two part Request for Tender (RFT). Only Bidders who meet the requirements of Part One will be invited to participate in Part Two - Bid Submission.
Manitoba Housing requires the services of a General Contractor for an exterior and common area refresh, confined space and site upgrades of two, multi-story housing units. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, raising two housing units in elevation, crawlspace debris removal, new crawlspace weeping tile, related temporary shoring, surveys, construction of new wood supporting beams and joist ledger galvanized angles, new concrete footings, remediation of existing concrete footings to remain, new galvanized adjustable steel tele-post supports, selective demolition of interior architectural works, installation of new gypsum board, new flooring, new paint, repainting of architectural items to remain, new interior doors and frames, mechanical upgrades, electrical upgrades, new attic insulation, a new exterior parking lot galvanized steel posts and channels, new parking lot electrical, parking lot line painting, sandblasting and recoating of exterior steel parking barriers to remain, miscellaneous exterior concrete foundation wall repairs and new exterior sidewalks; removal and replacement of asphalt parking lot, sidewalks, shingles, soffit, fascia, raingear, wall finishing, exterior and storm doors, windows, mechanical and electrical works and asbestos removal. Removal of lamps and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) ballasts, Asbestos and Mould Abatement - Type 1 and Asbestos and Mould Abatement - Type 2 are required within the housing unit addresses
Work site location will be occupied during construction.
An optional site visit will be provided in Part 2 of this tender for all prequalified bidders and the sub contractors. The attics and crawlspaces at the two addresses are identified as a confined work area. As such, reports, pictures and drawing will be included in this RFT for all bidders to assess the work load and existing work environment. All entrants entering the confined spaces must have current confined space entry certification and follow all Manitoba regulations and guidelines relating to confined space entry. Anyone wishing to access the confined spaces must present certificates at the bidders’ meeting. This will also be a requirement for award.
Deadline for questions is May 30, 2019. All questions must be submitted to the Contract Administrator at denise.borys@gov.mb.ca.
Deadline for "Requests for Equals" is 10 days before the submission deadline of Part Two - Bid Submission. Anyone wishing to submit a request for equal must complete the form on the website www.gov.mb.ca/housing/mh/business/procurement.html and submit to the project manager at andres.aguirre@gov.mb.ca. The form must be completed in its entirety or may be rejected.
Bid submission deadline for Part One - Prequalification is June 6, 2019 at 2:00:00 P.M. CST. This is an ebid submission and all bids must be uploaded through MERX. No other form of submission is accepted for this tender. Please read the tender documents carefully regarding the ebid requirements.
