D3.          SCOPE OF WORK

D3.1        The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:
(a)   Asphalt Pavement Reconstruction:
(i)     Lilian Avenue from Marion Place to Cromwell Street;
(b)   Pavement Rehabilitation:
(i)     Dumoulin Street from Thibault Street to Langevin Street;
(ii)     Champlain Street from Niverville Avenue to St. Mary’s Road;
(iii)     Courtwood Place from Beaverhill Boulevard to End; and
(iv)     Baywater Place from Beaverhilll to End;
(c)    Thin Bituminous Overlay:
(i)     Notre Dame Street from Thibault Street to St. Jean Baptiste Street;
(ii)     Caton Street from Des Meurons Street to St. Mary’s Road;
(iii)     Bayshore Cove from Beaverhill Boulevard to End; and
(iv)     Shamrock Drive Frontage Road from #70 to #98;
(d)   Neighbourhood Greenway:
(i)     Youvill Street from Marion Street to Haig Avenue; and
(ii)     Egerton Road from Morier Avenue to south terminus.

D3.2        The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a)   Asphalt Pavement Reconstruction: first type of Work (from D3.1):
(i)     remove existing pavement;
(ii)     excavation;
(iii)     coordinate with Manitoba Hydro Gas Services to lower or rock wrap gas service lines as 
required;
(iv)     installation of catch basins and connecting pipe;
(v)     installation of subdrains;
(vi)     compaction of existing subgrade;
(vii)     install insulation over all long side water service lines;
(viii)     placement of geotextile separation and filtration fabric;
(ix)     placement of sub-base and base course materials;
(x)     installation of street lighting as required;
(xi)     adjustment of existing drainage inlets, valves and manholes as required;
(xii)     construct one hundred eighty (180) millimetres (mm) barrier curb for asphalt pavement as 
required;
(xiii)     renewal of existing sidewalk as required;
(xiv)     placement of asphalt pavement utilizing grade control equipment (average thickness of one 
hundred twenty (120) mm);
(xv)     reflective crack maintenance for new asphalt along all new curb;
(xvi)     cleaning of all catch basins and catch pits in the project areas; and
(xvii)     boulevard grading and sodding;
(b)   Pavement Rehabilitation/Thin Bituminous Overlay: second and third type of Work (from D3.1):
(i)     planning of existing asphalt and concrete pavement (for headers) as required;
(ii)     full depth concrete repairs of existing slabs and joints as required;
(iii)     renewal of existing curbs and sidewalks as required;
(iv)     adjustment of existing drainage inlets, valves and manholes;
(v)     boulevard grading and sodding;
(vi)     cleaning of all catch basins and catch pits in the project area;
(vii)     placement of asphalt pavement utilizing grade control equipment (average thickness of 
eighty (80) mm); and
(viii)     reflective crack maintenance as required;
(c)    Neighbourhood Greenway:
(i)     install eighty (80) mm speed humps as required.
