B4. SCOPE OF WORK
B4.1 The Work to be done under the Project shall consist of design and construction of a
modular fire paramedic station and associated site development, including:
(a) Design, construction, transportation, installation and connection of a 4,000-5,000 SF
modular building; and
(b) Design and construction of an approximately one (1) acre site, including building
foundation, drainage, underground utilities, soft and hard landscaping, and new concrete and
asphalt paving.
B4.2 The Contractor’s responsibilities in respect to this Project are expected to include:
(a) Providing overall project management services to manage and control cost, quality, schedule
and safety, contract and subcontract management, and risk management, and as well as providing
systems for document control, progress monitoring and progress reporting;
(b) Procurement of materials and equipment (including standardized instrumentation and control
equipment from City pre-selected suppliers), construction / installation, subcontracting;
(c) Providing construction management and supervision of trade labour, construction equipment
and the procurement and logistics of materials and equipment for the construction;
(d) Providing testing, start-up and commissioning services for equipment and systems,
performance guarantee testing, and commissioning of the Project to meet all Functional
Requirements; and
(e) Providing operation and maintenance manuals, including manuals and data for the City asset
management system together with operator and maintenance training for City staff to facility
ongoing operations and maintenance.
B4.3 The Consultant’s responsibilities in respect to this Project are expected to include:
(a) providing professional services for the planning, engineering, design (certified by professional
engineers registered in the Province of Manitoba), surveying, permitting, site
investigations, and technical support.
