D3. SCOPE OF WORK
D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of two parts:
(a) Part 1 – City Funded Work
(b) Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work.
Part 1 – City Funded Work

Part 1 – City Funded Work shall consist of:
(a) Downtown Sidewalk Renewals
(i) Arthur Street (Both Sides) – McDermot Avenue to Notre Dame Ave
(ii) Balmoral Street (West Side) – Ellice Avenue to 120m north of Ellice Avenue
(iii) William Avenue (South Side) – Main Street to King Street
(b) Regional Sidewalk Renewal
(i) Broadway (Both Sides) – Sherbrook Street to Spence Street
(c) Local Sidewalk Renewals
(i) Eccles Street (East Side) – Arnold Avenue to Morley Avenue
(ii) Darling Street (West Side) – Oakwood Avenue to Baltimore Road
(iii) Wardlaw Avenue (South Side) – Daly Street to Nassau Street
(iv) Oakenwald Avenue (South Side) – Pembina Highway to Wicklow Street
(v) Oakdale Drive (East Side) – Grant Avenue to Coy Avenue

Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work
D3.3 Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work shall consist of:
(a) Street Lighting and Associated Works
(i) Broadway from Sherbrook Street to Spence Street
D3.4 The City currently has no approved funding in the Capital Budget for Part 2 of the
Work, but is anticipating receiving notification about funding from Manitoba Hydro by late May.
Part 2 of the Work is contingent upon Manitoba Hydro approving sufficient funding.
D3.4.1 Further to C7.1, if notice of sufficient funding is not received, the City shall
have the right to eliminate all or any portion of Part 2, and the Contract Price will be reduced
accordingly.
D3.4.2 Further to C7.5, C7.5.1, and C7.6, a reduction in the Contract Price pursuant to
D3.4.1 shall not be considered in calculating the aggregate reduction in the Contract Price for
purposes of C7.5.
D3.4.3 If all or any portion of Part 2 is eliminated pursuant to D3.4.1, the time
periods stipulated in D23 for Substantial Performance of the Work and in D24 for Total Performance
of the Work will be reduced proportionally by the Contract Administrator acting reasonably.
D3.5 The major components of the Work are as follows:
Part 1 – City Funded Work
(a) Downtown Sidewalk Renewals
(i) Removal of monolithic curb and sidewalk;
(ii) Removal of interlocking paving stone and lean mix;
(iii) Removal of 100mm concrete sidewalk;
(iv) Removal of tree well components;
(v) Installation of new tree well frames and grates;
(vi) Supply and placement of base course;
(vii) Renewal of existing curb;
(viii) Adjustment of manhole/ catch basin frames;
(ix) Adjustment of water valves;
(x) Adjustment of curb stops;
(xi) Construction of 100mm monolithic curb and sidewalk with block-outs for paving stones;
(xii) Installation of paving stone indicator surfaces;
(xiii) Installation of Detectible Warning Surfaces Tiles;
(xiv) Construction of tree well curbs;
(xv) Construction of asphalt patches;
(xvi) Regrading of existing interlocking paving stone;
(xvii) Grading of boulevards; and
(xviii) Sodding.

(d) New Sidewalk
(i) Renewal of existing sidewalk;
(ii) Excavation;
(iii) Supply and placement of base course;
(iv) Construction of new 100mm concrete sidewalk;
(v) Construction of 100mm monolithic curb and sidewalk
(vi) Renewal of existing curb;
(vii) Adjustment of water valves;
(viii) Adjustment of curb stops;
(ix) Installation of Detectible Warning Surface Tiles;

Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work
(e) Street Lighting and Associated Works
(i) Removal of street light poles from existing bases;
(ii) Removal of existing bases;
(iii) Installation of precast concrete bases;
(iv) Installation of street light poles on concrete bases;
(v) Installation of 10’ ground rods;
(vi) Installation of the luminaire and associated wiring;
(vii) Splicing/ connecting of electrical cables;
(viii) Excavation of street light cable/ conduit trench;
(ix) Backfill the street light cable/ conduit trench;
(x) Installation of temporary overhead feed; and
(xi) Removal of temporary overhead feed.
