D3. SCOPE OF WORK

D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:

Minor Rehabilitation
1. Ghent Cove from Mayfield Crescent to Cove End.
Major Rehabilitation
1. Nassau Street from Montague Avenue to Jubilee Avenue; and
2. Montgomery Avenue from Casey Street to Fisher Street.
Reconstruction (Asphalt Pavement)
1. Wicklow Place from South End to Dowker Avenue; and
2. Wicklow Street from Waterford Avenue to Point Road.
Asphalt Rehabilitation
1. Wicklow Place from Dowker Avenue to Waterford Avenue;
2. Woodgrove Street from South End to Southwood Avenue; and
3. Eldridge Avenue from Haney Street to Elmhurst Road.
Sewer Repairs and Associated Works
1. Eldridge Avenue from Haney Street to Elmhurst Road;
2. Ghent Cove from Mayfield Crescent to Cove End;
3. Woodgrove Street from South End to Southwood Avenue;
4. Wicklow Place from South End to Dowker Avenue;
5. Wicklow Street from Dowker Avenue to Waterford Avenue;
6. Wicklow Street from Waterford Avenue to Point Road;
7. Nassau Street from Montague Avenue To McNaughton Avenue;
8. Nassau Street from McNaughton Avenue To Jubilee Avenue; and
9. Montgomery Avenue from Casey Street To Fisher Street.

D3.2 The major components of the Work are as follows:

Minor Rehabilitation
1. Planing of existing lip curbs;
2. Construction of modified lip curb (slip form, 75mm reveal);
3. Renewal of barrier curbs (75mm reveal);
4. Slab replacement;
5. Concrete joint repairs;

Placement of pavement repair fabric;
Replacement of curb inlets with curb & gutter catch pits or catch basins;
Installation of sewer services and drainage connection pipes;
Adjusting catch basin and manhole frame and covers;
Adjustment of drainage inlets;
Construction of asphalt overlay (40 - 100mm of Type 1A);
Concrete approach reconstruction;
Reconstruction of approaches with pavers;
New sidewalk installation;
Installation of detectable tile;
Renewal of sidewalks;
Boulevard regrading;
Placement of topsoil; and
Placement of sod.

Major Rehabilitation
1. Slab replacement;
2. Installation of geogrid fabrics over underlying granular materials;
3. Concrete joint repairs;
4. Placement of pavement repair fabric;
5. Replacement of curb inlets with curb & gutter catch pits or catch basins;
6. Installation of sewer services and drainage connection pipes;
7. Adjusting catch basin and manhole frame and covers;
8. Sidewalk renewal;
9. Installation of detectable tile;
10. Select curb renewals (75mm-100mm reveal);
11. Construction of asphalt overlay (40-100mm of Type 1A);
12. Placement of topsoil; and
13. Placement of sod.
Asphalt Rehabilitation
1. Milling of existing asphalt pavement (50mm-75mm);
2. Installation of catch basin & catch pits and connecting pipes;
3. Connections to existing sewer;
4. Culvert renewal;
5. Installation of granular base course in select locations;
6. Placement of pavement repair fabric;
7. Renewal of curbs, curb and gutter, and lip curbs;
8. Construction of inlet isolation for asphalt pavements;
9. Construction of barrier curb for asphalt pavements;
10. Construction of modified barrier curb for asphalt pavements;
11. Construction of lip curb for asphalt pavements;
12. Construction of ramp curb for asphalt pavements;
13. Placement and compaction of 50mm sub-base material as backfill behind barrier curb for asphalt pavement within excavated area;
14. Placement and compaction of suitable site material as backfill above granular and behind barrier curb for asphalt pavement within excavated area;
15. Renewal of public lane approaches with 150mm reinforced concrete pavement;
16. Installation of 150mm reinforced concrete approaches;

Installation of asphalt approaches;
Adjustment/repair of private approach tie-ins;
New sidewalk installation;
Sidewalk renewal;
Installation of detectable warning surface tiles;
Adjustment of precast sidewalk blocks;
Construction of mainline asphalt pavement (50-100mm of Type 1A);
Adjustment of existing catch basins, manholes and appurtenances;
Trees, stump and shrub removal and/or pruning;
Boulevard & ditch regrading; and
Boulevard restoration and sod.

Asphalt Pavement Reconstruction
1. Pavement Removal;
2. Excavation;
3. Insulation of water services;
4. Sub-grade preparation and compaction;
5. Placement of geotextile fabric;
6. Placement of geogrid;
7. Placement of sub-base and base course material;
8. Installation of catch basin and connecting pipes;
9. Installation of subdrains;
10. Construction of barrier curb for asphalt pavements;
11. Construction of modified barrier curb for asphalt pavements;
12. Placement and compaction of 50mm sub-base material as backfill behind barrier curb for asphalt pavement within excavated area;
13. Construction of lip curb for asphalt pavements;
14. Construction of ramp curb for asphalt pavements;
15. Placement and compaction of suitable site material as backfill behind barrier curb for asphalt pavement within excavated area;
16. Installation of 150mm reinforced concrete approaches;
17. Installation of asphalt approaches;
18. New sidewalk installation;
19. Sidewalk renewal;

22. Placement of asphalt pavement (Type III, 75mm thickness);
23. Placement of asphalt pavement (Type 1A, 50mm thickness);
24. Adjustment of existing catch basins, manholes and appurtenances;
25. Boulevard regrading; and
26. Boulevard restoration and sod.
Sewer Repairs and Associated Works
1. External point repairs of existing sewers;
2. Repairs to manhole structures; and
3. Sewer and sewer service video inspection.

B3.1 Further to C3.1, the Bidder may view the Site without making an appointment.

B3.2 The Bidder is responsible for inspecting the Site, the nature of the Work to be done
and all conditions that might affect their Bid or their performance of the Work, and shall assume
all risk for conditions existing or arising in the course of the Work which have been or could have
been determined through such inspection.
