D3. SCOPE OF WORK
D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:
(a) Minor Rehabilitation
(i) Sinnott Street from Barker Boulevard (South leg) to Barker Boulevard (North leg);
(ii) Carlyle Bay from Westwood Drive (South leg) to Westwood Drive (North leg);
(iii) Collegiate Street from Silver Avenue to St. Matthews Avenue;
(iv) Holdsworth Avenue from Aldershot Boulevard to Glastonbury Boulevard; and
(v) Exmouth Avenue from Holdsworth Avenue to Aldershot Boulevard.
(b) Major Rehabilitation
(i) Fairlane Avenue from Isbister Street to Buchanan Boulevard; and
(ii) Lumsden Avenue from Kay Crescent to Cavalier Drive.
(c) Reconstruction (Concrete Pavement)
(i) Fairlane Avenue from Stewart Street to Buchanan Boulevard; and
(ii) Exmouth Avenue from Holdsworth Avenue and Exmouth Street intersection to Folkstone Avenue.
(d) Sewer Repairs and Associated Works
(i) Sinnott Street from Barker Boulevard (South leg) to Barker Boulevard (North leg);
(ii) Fairlane Avenue from Isbister Street to Buchanan Boulevard;
(iii) Lumsden Avenue from Kay Crescent to Cavalier Drive;
(iv) Carlyle Bay from Westwood Drive (South) to Westwood Drive (North); and
(v) Exmouth Street from Holdsworth Avenue to Aldershot Boulevard.
(e) Water Main Renewal and Associated Works
(i) Holdsworth Avenue from Aldershot Boulevard to Exmouth Avenue.
D3.2 The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a) Minor Rehabilitation
(i) Planing of existing lip curbs;
(ii) Construction of concrete joint repairs;
(iii) Construction of modified lip curb (slip form);
(iv) Renewal of barrier curbs (75mm reveal);
(v) External sewer point repairs;
(vi) Slab replacement;
(vii) Concrete Joint Repairs;
(viii) Placement of pavement repair fabric;
(ix) Replacement of curb inlets with curb & gutter catch pits or catch basins;
(x) Installation of sewer services and drainage connection pipes;
(xi) Adjusting catch basin and manhole frame and covers;
(xii) Adjustment of drainage inlets;
(xiii) Construction of asphalt overlay (40 - 100mm of Type 1A);
(xiv) Concrete approach reconstruction;
(xv) Reconstruction of approaches with pavers;
(xvi) New sidewalk installation;
(xvii) Renewal of sidewalks;
(xviii) Boulevard regrading;
(xix) Placement of topsoil; and
(xx) Placement of sod.
(b) Major Rehabilitation
(i) Milling of existing asphalt overlay;
(ii) External sewer point repairs;
(iii) Slab replacement;
(iv) Installation of geogrid fabrics over underlying granular materials;
(v) Concrete Joint Repairs;
(vi) Placement of pavement repair fabric;
(vii) Replacement of curb inlets with curb & gutter catch pits or catch basins;
(viii) Installation of sewer services and drainage connection pipes;
(ix) Adjusting catch basin and manhole frame and covers;
(x) Sidewalk renewal;
(xi) Installation of detectable tile;
(xii) Select curb renewals (75mm reveal);
(xiii) Construction of asphalt overlay (40-100mm of Type 1A);
(xiv) Placement of topsoil; and
(xv) Placement of sod or seed.
(c) Reconstruction (Concrete Pavement)
(i) Removal of existing pavement within designated area;
(ii) Installation of new catch basins and catch pits.
(iii) Installation of subdrains and land drainage sewer;
(iv) External sewer point repairs;
(v) Removal of roots from sewer;
(vi) Excavation;
(vii) Installation of geogrid fabrics over underlying granular materials;
(viii) Construction of granular base course;
(ix) Adjusting catch basin and manhole frame and covers;
(x) Construction of mainline concrete pavement (150 reinforced);
(xi) Construction of integral barrier curbs;
(xii) Construction of reinforced concrete approaches;
(xiii) Renewal of sidewalks;
(xiv) Installation of imported fill for backfill;
(xv) Regrading of boulevards;
(xvi) Placement of topsoil; and
(xvii) Placement of sod or seed.
(d) Sewer Repairs and Associated Works
(i) External point repairs of existing sewers; and
(ii) Sewer and sewer service video inspection.
(e) Water Main Renewal and Associated Works
(i) Installation of approximately 200m of 250mm PVC water main by trenchless methods;
(ii) Abandonment and removal of existing water mains, valves, and hydrants;
(iii) Installation of hydrant assemblies and gate valves;
(iv) Reconnection or renewal of water service connections;
(v) Hydrostatic pressure testing of the new water mains;
(vi) Disinfection of the new water mains; and
(vii) Final tie-ins of water mains.
