D3. SCOPE OF WORK
D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of two parts:
(a) Part 1 – Local Street Renewals
(b) Part 2 – New North West Hydro Corridor Active Transportation Pathway.
Part 1 – Local Street Renewals
D3.2 Part 1 – Local Street Renewals shall consist of:
(a) Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation
(i) Buller Street – Gilbert Avenue to Manitoba Avenue
(ii) Manitoba Avenue – Chudley Street to Keewatin Street
(iii) Tecumseh Street – Alexander Avenue to Pacific Avenue
(b) Asphalt Pavement Rehabilitation
(i) Pacific Avenue – Sherbrook Street to Tecumseh Street
Part 2 – New North West Hydro Corridor Active Transportation Pathway
D3.3 Part 2 – New North West Hydro Corridor Active Transportation Pathway shall consist of:
(a) New Multi-Use Pathway Construction
(i) Northwest Hydro Corridor Pathway – From Church Avenue to Leila Avenue
D3.4 The City currently has not received issuance of the “Enter to Construct” agreement for
Part 2 of the Work, but is anticipating receiving issuance from Manitoba Hydro by late May. Part 2
of the Work is contingent upon issuance of this agreement.
D3.4.1 Further to C7.1, if issuance of agreement is not received, the City shall have
the right to eliminate all or any portion of Part 2, and the Contract Price will be reduced
accordingly.
D3.4.2 Further to C7.5, C7.5.1, and C7.6, a reduction in the Contract Price pursuant to
D3.4.1 shall not be considered in calculating the aggregate reduction in the Contract Price for
purposes of C7.5.
D3.5 The major components of the Work are as follows:
Part 1 – Local Street Renewals
(a) Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation
(i) Removal of existing asphalt;
(ii) Renewal of existing sidewalk as required;
(iii) Installation of detectable warning surface tiles;
(iv) Removal of existing curb where required;
(v) Replacing existing catch basins where required;
(vi) Installing catch pits and drainage connection/sewer service pipes;
(vii) Full depth concrete repairs of existing slabs and joints;
(viii) Adjustment of existing pavement and boulevard structures;
(ix) Construction of new curb;
(x) Grading of boulevards and placement of topsoil;
(xi) Installation of pavement repair fabric;
(xii) Construction of asphalt overlay (average thickness 80mm);
(xiii) Sodding; and
(xiv) Reflective crack maintenance.
(b) Asphalt Pavement Rehabilitation
(i) Planing of existing asphalt as required;
(ii) Milling of existing curb as required;
(iii) Removal of existing curb and gutter as required;
(iv) Renewal of existing sidewalks as required;
(v) Renewal of existing 150mm reinforced sidewalk;
(vi) Installation of detectable warning surface tiles;
(vii) Replacing existing catch basins as required;
(viii) Installation of catch pits and drainage connection/sewer service pipes;
(ix) Adjustment of existing pavement and boulevard structures;
(x) Grading of boulevards and placement of topsoil;
(xi) Installation of pavement repair fabric;
(xii) Construction of asphalt overlay (average thickness 80mm);
(xiii) Sodding; and
(xiv) Reflective crack maintenance.
Part 2 – New North West Hydro Corridor Active Transportation Pathway
(a) New Multi-Use Pathway
(i) Supply and install protective timber fence;
(ii) Installation of protective snow fencing;
(iii) Stripping and stockpiling topsoil;
(iv) Excavation;
(v) Sub-grade compaction;
(vi) Removal of existing trees;
(vii) Installation of 300mm corrugated steel culvert;
(viii) Placement of geotextile fabric;
(ix) Supplying and Placing Crushed Sub-base Material;
(x) Supply and placing of Geogrid;
(xi) Supplying and Placing Base course material;
(xii) Placement of fill material;
(xiii) Placement of Pavement Repair Fabric;
(xiv) Supply and place 75mm Type 1A asphalt;
(xv) Installation of a rumble strip;
(xvi) New Sidewalk construction;
(xvii) Renewal of Sidewalk;
(xviii) Curb Removal;
(xix) Construction of Barrier Curb;
(xx) Construction of Curb Ramp;
(xxi) Construction of Modified Barrier Curb;
(xxii) Installation of detectable warning tile;
(xxiii) Adjustment of existing manholes and appurtenances;
(xxiv) Construction of grassed swale;
(xxv) Grading of boulevards and placement of topsoil;
(xxvi) Installation of post bollards;
(xxvii) Installation of benches; and
(xxviii) Sodding and Seeding.
