D3. SCOPE OF WORK
D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of two parts:
(a) Part 1 – City Funded Work
(b) Part 2 – Provincially Funded Work.
Part 1 – City Funded Work
D3.2 Part 1 – City Funded Work shall consist of:
(a) Pavement Reconstruction (2021)
(i) Selkirk Avenue from Sinclair Street to Arlington Street
(b) Pavement Reconstruction (2022)
(i) Selkirk Avenue from McPhillips Street to Sinclair Street
(ii) William Avenue from McPhillips Street to Arlington Street
Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work
D3.3 Part 2 – Provincially Funded Work shall consist of:
(a) Street Lighting (2021)
(i) Selkirk Avenue from Sinclair Street to Arlington Street
(ii) Contractor Option – Selkirk Avenue from Battery Street to Sinclair Street.
The Contractor may elect at their own discretion to advance the Street Lighting works in this section to 2021. Otherwise this work can be completed in 2022.
(b) Street Lighting (2022)
(i) Selkirk Avenue from McPhillips Street to Sinclair Street
(ii) William Avenue from McPhillips Street to Arlington Street
D3.4 The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a) City Funded Work
(i) Removal of existing pavement
(ii) Removal of existing streetcar tracks and bedding (two sets of existing tracks)
(iii) Removal of existing trolley poles or cut-off of bases below grade
(iv) Roadway excavation
(v) Installation of subdrains
(vi) Compaction of sub-grade
(vii) Installation of traffic signals underground conduit, bases and pits.
(viii) Installation of catch basins and sewer service pipe
(ix) Installation of water service insulation
(x) Repairs to existing sewers and manholes
(xi) Placement of separation fabric
(xii) Placement of geogrid
(xiii) Placement of sub-base and base course materials
(xiv) Adjustment of existing pavement appurtenances
(xv) Construction of 230mm Plain Dowelled Concrete pavement (Selkirk Avenue)
(xvi) Construction of 180mm integral barrier curb (Selkirk Avenue)
(xvii) Construction of 150mm Hot Mix Asphalt (William Avenue)
(xviii) Construction of 150mm and 180mm concrete curb and gutter (William Avenue)
(xix) Construction of sidewalks with block-outs
(xx) Installation of paving stones
(xxi) Renewal of existing sidewalk
(xxii) Regrading of private walkways (paving stones and concrete)
(xxiii) Completion of boulevard grading
(xxiv) Installation of topsoil and sod
(b) Provincially Funded Work
(i) Installation of streetlights and associated infrastructure
