Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the Paving Rehabilitation & Storm Sewer Outfall in North Sydney, NS.

The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal site in North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to, paving rehabilitation and the supply and install of a storm sewer outfall at the Marine Atlantic Terminal. More particularly the work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

Mobilization and demobilization, including all labor and equipment as specified and as required to carry out the work.

Milling to remove 50mm of asphalt, application of a tack coat and reinstatement of surface course of asphalt, to a depth of 50mm. Quantity and locations as shown on drawings.

In areas noted, full depth reconstruction of asphalt. Remove asphalt, along with granular base and sub-base, to a total of depth of 450mm and provide new asphalt, granular base, and granular sub-base. Quantity and locations as shown on drawings.

Reinstatement of pavement markings to existing details prior to milling of asphalt. Quantity and locations as shown on drawings.

Remove existing armour stone to accommodate installation of new storm sewer outfall. Supply and install new storm sewer catch basin and 400mm Ø HDPE storm sewer pipe as shown on drawings. Reinstate armour stone after installation of pipe.

Locate existing 300mm Ø PVC storm sewer in two (2) locations and cut existing pipe. Supply and connect new 300mm Ø DR-35 PVC pipe to existing at two (2) locations with 300mm Ø sleeve type coupling, as shown on drawings.

Supply and install new storm sewer valve chamber with inflow protector. New pipe to extend through chamber and be equipped with 300mm Ø back flow preventer in chamber, as shown on drawings.

Submittals:
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Construction Schedule.
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Safety Plan.
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Traffic Control and Pedestrian Plan.
- Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Environmental Protection Plan.
- Preparation, and submission of a Project Execution Methodology.

Marine Atlantic reserves the right to accept tenders in whole or in part. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

A site visit will be held on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, at 2:00 PM Atlantic Time at the site in North Sydney, Nova Scotia.

The closing for receipt of tenders will be 2:00PM Atlantic Time, May 30, 2024.

Proposals must be submitted by electronic means using the MERX EBS.

This will be the only method of response accepted for consideration. Proposals will not be considered if submitted by fax, email or other open forms of communication. Proposals must be received by the closing date and hour. Late Proposals will not be considered.

Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) lance un appel d'offres auprès de fournisseurs qualifiés pour la réhabilitation du pavage et l'émissaire des égouts pluviaux à North Sydney, en Nouvelle-Écosse.

Le projet est situé sur le site du terminal de ferry Marine Atlantique à North Sydney, en Nouvelle-Écosse.

Les travaux comprennent généralement, sans toutefois s'y limiter, la réfection du pavage ainsi que la fourniture et l'installation d'un émissaire d'égout pluvial au terminal de Marine Atlantique. Plus particulièrement, les travaux comprennent, sans toutefois s'y limiter, les éléments suivants :

• Mobilisation et démobilisation, y compris toute la main-d'œuvre et l'équipement spécifiés et requis pour effectuer les travaux.

• Fraisage pour enlever 50 mm d'asphalte, application d'une couche d'accrochage et remise en place de la couche de roulement d'asphalte, sur une profondeur de 50 mm. Quantité et emplacements comme indiqué sur les dessins.

• Dans les zones signalées, reconstruction complète de l'asphalte. Enlever l'asphalte, ainsi que la base granulaire et la sous-couche, jusqu'à une profondeur totale de 450 mm et fournir un nouvel asphalte, une nouvelle base granulaire et une sous-couche granulaire. Quantité et emplacements comme indiqué sur les dessins.

• Rétablissement des marquages sur la chaussée sur les détails existants avant le fraisage de l'asphalte. Quantité et emplacements comme indiqué sur les dessins.

• Retirer les pierres de carapace existantes pour permettre l'installation d'un nouvel émissaire d'égout pluvial. Fournir et installer un nouveau puisard d'égout pluvial et un tuyau d'égout pluvial en PEHD de 400 mm de diamètre, comme indiqué sur les dessins. Rétablissez la pierre de carapace après l'installation du tuyau.

• Localisez l'égout pluvial existant en PVC de 300 mm de diamètre à deux (2) endroits et coupez le tuyau existant. Fournir et connecter un nouveau tuyau en PVC DR-35 de 300 mm de diamètre à l'existant à deux (2) emplacements avec un raccord de type manchon de 300 mm de diamètre, comme indiqué sur les dessins.

• Fournir et installer une nouvelle chambre de vanne d'égout pluvial avec protecteur d'entrée. Nouveau tuyau devant traverser la chambre et être équipé d'un clapet anti-retour de 300 mm de diamètre dans la chambre, comme indiqué sur les dessins.

• Soumissions :
o Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d'un calendrier de construction approuvé.
o Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d'un plan de sécurité spécifique au site approuvé.
o Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d'un plan approuvé de contrôle de la circulation et des piétons.
o Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d'un plan de protection de l'environnement spécifique au site approuvé.
o Préparation et soumission d'une méthodologie d'exécution du projet.

Marine Atlantique se réserve le droit d'accepter les offres en totalité ou en partie. L’offre la plus basse ou toute autre offre ne sera pas nécessairement acceptée.

Une visite des lieux aura lieu le mardi 21 mai 2024, à 14 h 00, heure de l'Atlantique, sur le site de North Sydney, en Nouvelle-Écosse.

La date limite de réception des offres sera le 30 mai 2024 à 14 h, heure de l'Atlantique.

Les propositions doivent être soumises par voie électronique en utilisant MERX EBS.

Ce sera la seule méthode de réponse acceptée pour examen. Les propositions ne seront pas prises en compte si elles sont soumises par fax, courrier électronique ou autres formes de communication ouvertes.
