PAB Gulfspan Dock Automated Mooring
 
 
Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the PAB Gulfspan Dock Automated Mooring.
 
The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal site in Port aux Basques, NL.
 
The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to:
 
General:
Concrete removals as required for installation of new automated mooring units and stop fender.
 
Any and all removals, modifications and replacement of existing dock systems/structures necessary to complete the work of this contract including electrical, water services and steel guardrail.
 
Removal of existing concrete trenches, including 150mm marine diesel oil (MDO) and 250mm intermediate fuel oil (IFO) lines.
 
Installation of new overhead MDO and IFO lines and associated reinforced concrete foundations and structural steel support system.
 
Automated Mooring:
Installation of a reinforced concrete base slab for support each of the automated mooring units.
 
Installation of reinforced concrete retaining walls and concrete plinths on top of the mooring unit base slabs.
 
Installation of a steel platform adjacent to the mooring unit that will support a machinery house and provide access to the automated mooring unit.
 
Installation of both electrical power and data to each of the automated mooring units.
 
Installation of removable guardrails and access ladder to the pit containing the automated mooring unit.
 
Installation of new electrical power supply and communication lines to each mooring unit.
 
Stop fender:
Installation of a reinforced concrete base slab, support walls and integral mooring bollard for support of the stop fender.
Installation of a structural steel space frame, energy absorbing rubber element, and frontal panel complete with UHMW wear pads.
 
Installation of a relocated steel mooring bollard.
 
Guide Fenders:
Modification of existing fenders as required to adjust for dock configurations at the automated mooring locations.
 
Removal of all existing timber faced fender systems.
 
Removal of select existing steel panelled fender systems and associated components.
 
Installation of existing fenders systems that have been recently removed from the PAB Alternate dock.
 
 
Marine Atlantic reserves the right to accept tenders in whole or in part.  The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
 
A site visit will be held on December 7, 2017 at 10 am Atlantic Time (10:30 Newfoundland Time) at the site in Port aux Basques.
 
The closing for receipt of tenders will be 1400 hours Atlantic Time, December 18, 2017.
 
Proposals must be submitted by electronic means using the MERX EBS.
 
This will be the only method of response accepted for consideration. Proposals will not be considered if submitted by fax, email or other open forms of communication.  Proposals must be received by the closing date and hour.  Late Proposals will not be considered.
