This document requests bids on two (2) landscaping projects near the Townhouse Residence Buildings at King’s University College (hereby referred to as “King’s”).
SCOPE:
Project #1: New Landscape Installation at TH8-10 Remove & Dispose of the following necessary material to allow for proper installation of new proposed landscape plan o Existing Precast Wall Stone o Existing Concrete Walkway o Existing Concrete Curbing around Trees o Stack Existing Paving Stones on Skids and Set aside (King’s will keep) Move Bicycle Rack to new Location Shown on Landscape Plan Excavate Work Area for proper installation of new Landscape Items, Dispose Fill Install 6” minimum of Compacted Granular A on subsoil for armour stone wall base Install 22”-24” Tall Armour stone retaining wall o See attached drawing (D1) o Install Landscape Fabric behind armour stone wall to prevent washout between joints of stones (Butting Wall stones must be touching upon installation) o Install 4” Socked Big-O Drain Pipe behind walls o Backfill around drain pipe with Clear-stone, cover with fabric Install 6” minimum of Compacted Granular Base for New Brushed Concrete Walkway o Base Installed 6” past the edge of the walkway to provide adequate base Form and Pour New Brushed Concrete Walkway (Approximately 1400 SF) o Include Welded Wire Grid Mesh within Concrete o 32 MPA Stamped Concrete 5-8% Air Matching Existing nearby concrete best as possible o Expansion Joints installed as necessary o Concrete Cutting and 1 Seal 15 days after coat Form and Pour 2 New Concrete Steps o At (1) Fire Exit Door Maintain working Function of Existing Storm Drains at the (3) Townhouse Exits Install French Drain pits at all (6) Existing Downspouts o See attached drawing (D3) o Excavate a 4’x4’x4’ cubed pit at base of Downspouts o Top of Cube to start at Bottom of New Armour Stone wall o Line the pit with Landscape Fabric, Fill the pit with 3/4” Clearstone o Cover the top of the Pit with Landscape Fabric, Cover Fabric with Garden soil o Tie Socked Big-O Drain Pipes from behind Walls into Drain Pits Add 6” of 3-way soil to garden beds and amend into existing soil o NOTE: some Garden Soil against Townhouse Foundation can be reused behind new wall on north side of new walkway (lowering grade here) Install Plants as shown on landscape plan to area of work o Amend necessary plant material with peat moss & fertilize o Stake and secure necessary plant material o Plants must be guaranteed for 2 years Mulch garden with approximately 3” of shredded pine mulch Add necessary screened topsoil for fine grading around work area and any areas damaged throughout construction Re-grade & Restore Sod in necessary areas
Project #2: Adjustments to Existing Concrete Roundabout See attached drawing (D2) See attached Existing Photo Cut/ Break/ Remove Existing Concrete wall that currently divides the roundabout in two (a Ramp and a Staircase) Remove Existing Concrete Stairs & Ramp where shown on Landscape Plan Regrade subbase through this portion of the roundabout to allow for installation of new Concrete Ramp (Fresh Granular A may be Required) Railings Will need Modified See attached drawing D2 See attached Existing Photo
