IO has an internal website (called “IOpener”) and an external website (www.infrastructureontario.ca ).
IO’s internal website was launched in 2011 to support employee engagement by providing a centralized platform for all types of corporate information, news and resources (e.g., corporate announcements, shared success stories, business and departmental information, executive messages, training and tutorials, links to corporate applications, event/photo library, etc.).
IO’s external website is the main channel for all external-focused corporate information sharing. Some of the primary objectives of the external corporate website are to communicate significant project updates, recruit new talent, guide industry partners, and promote various business operations such as lending, property sales and filming requests. IO’s external website was updated in 2016 with enhanced design and functionality (e.g., redesign of high profile pages, better use of photos and video), content updates (e.g., simplified, consistent voice throughout the site), content compliance (e.g., accessibility, French language) and usability (e.g., navigation/search, sharing tools).
IO currently uses the Ektron Content Management System (CMS) to manage, maintain and publish content for both their internal and external websites and is looking to refresh or replace this tool with a modern and scalable platform that can meet IO’s current and long-term content management needs. IO would like an assessment conducted that will ultimately identify the optimal CMS platform(s) for the IOpener and IO’s external websites that meets the current requirements and objectives while effectively supporting and aligning with the ongoing needs for the future.
IO is also looking to redesign the IOpener website, and as part of this assessment would like to identify an implementation roadmap for the IOpener redesign solution on the new CMS platform identified for IOpener.
