1. The complete supply and installation of all labour, material, equipment and services to complete the Landscaping Scope of Work. All work will be carried out in accordance with the tender documents, drawings, addendums, and specifications.
2. The complete supply and installation of all labour, material, equipment and services to complete the Demolition Scope of Work. All work will be carried out in accordance with the tender documents, drawings, addendums, and specifications.
3. The complete supply and installation of all labour, material, equipment and services to complete the Electrical Infrastructure Scope of Work. All work will be carried out in accordance with the tender documents, drawings, addendums, and specifications.
4. The complete supply and installation of all labour, material, equipment and services to complete the Formwork, Concrete Placement, Concrete Finishing, Curing and Sealing Scope of Work. All work will be carried out in accordance with the tender documents, drawings, addendums, and specifications.
5. The complete supply and installation of all labour, material, equipment and services to complete the Asphalt Scope of Work. All work will be carried out in accordance with the tender documents, drawings, addendums, and specifications.
6. The Subcontractor to schedule a site review to examine current conditions and determine extent of required work.
7. This subcontract includes for the existing electrical infastructure (including conduit and existing pole bases) to be demolished and removed from site. This work shall include all light locations noted on
SK-SL-002 and SK-SL-003 up to but not including the pullbox noted on the plan as "Start of Loop". This will include a total of five light pole bases.
8. New Conduit complete with pull strings and New Pole Bases, including anchor bolts, rebar and conduit, are to be installed as per SK-SL-002 and SK-SL-003. New pre-cast pole bases or equivalent poured concrete bases for the purpose of this tender shall be acceptable as per manufacturer's engineered drawings. Layout to be as per SK-SL-002 and SK-SL-003; any modification suggestions must be proposed by this contractor and approved in writing by the Construction Manager prior to starting new work. Refer to SK-SL-LP-001 for Lamp Pole Base requirements for the purpose of this tender.
9. This Subcontract includes for the removal and disposal of existing rubble, rocks, concrete washout, sidewalks, walkways and asphalt required for the Subcontract Work as per SK-SL-001, SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005. All excess material becomes the property of the Subcontractor and shall be removed and disposed of off-site.
10. This Subcontract includes for the excavation, backfill, grade preparation, and granular base, including supply and placement of all necessary granulars where required for sidewalks and asphalt as per SK-SL-001, SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005.
11. This Subcontract includes for the supply and installation of all new concrete sidewalks and walkways, as per SK-SL-001, SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005. Include for preparation to tie in existing surfaces to new surfaces.
12. This Subcontract includes for the supply and installation of wire mesh and / or reinforcing steel required to complete concrete work as per SK-SL-001, SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005.
13. Complete supply, placement and finishing of all expansion, construction and control joints required for the Subcontract Work.
14. The Subcontractor is responsible for the supply of all concrete required for the Subcontract Work.
15. This Subcontract includes for the supply and installation of all new asphalt as per SK-SL-001,
SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005. Include for preparation to tie in existing surfaces to new surfaces.
16. This Subcontract includes for the raising or lowering of all catch basins and manholes based on grading requirements.
17. The Subcontract Work includes for all required grading (rough and fine grading) of the subcontract work areas as per SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005. Site review is required to determine extent of grading and removals.
18. This Subcontract includes for the provision, placing and spreading of all required top soil and hydroseeding required for the Subcontract Work as per SK-SL-001, SK-SL-002, SK-SL-003, SK-SL-004 and SK-SL-005. Include for the initial application of hydroseeding as well as maintenance requirements outlined in specification 32 92 21. A maintenance schedule must be received within 24 hours of Tender Close (2:00pm June 29th).
19. Supply, install and maintain for the duration of the project Tree Protection as required to complete this Scope of Work.
20. Replace the terms ‘engineer’ and ‘consultant’ with ‘construction manager’ in the specification sections.
21. Subcontractor to cooperate with testing and inspection companies to verify the installations.
22. Existing services will be located and paid for by the Construction Manager. The Subcontractor is responsible and shall pay for all repairs resulting from demolition / interruption of existing utility lines caused by Subcontractors work. In case of any interrupted or destroyed service line the Subcontractor shall arrange immediately for repair and inform the Contractor.
23. The Contractor is responsible to coordinate with all other parties to ensure that the contract is completed in a timely and efficient manner. The contractor will work continuously until such time that their scope is deemed complete. Coordinate work with light post installations.
24. Provide flagman to control and direct all associated equipment/vehicles.
25. The term “Contractor” or “Subcontractor” refers to the bidder herein.
26. Any and all requests for information should be forwarded to EllisDon in writing.
27. The Contractor is to complete Subguard Forms noted in Appendix 'C' of this tender package and qualify for Subguard Insurance in excess of the tendered amount. Subguard Insurance will be required prior to a contract award.
28. The Contractor is to provide Liability Insurance coverage as indicated with Schedule ‘I’, Insurance Policy prior to starting the work. The Contractor will be responsible for the deductible amount of $10,000 for the Builder’s Risk Insurance.
29. Submit monthly progress billings for approval no later than the 25th of the month for the entire month’s progress complete with a current WSIB Certificate and Statutory Declaration. Each progress billing must also include a breakdown of material and labour. Payment applications will be presented by the 5th of each month to the Owner by the Construction Manager for payment. The Owner shall make payment to the Construction Manager within 30 days of receipt of the payment application. The Construction Manager will make payment to the contractor within 10 days thereafter.
30. Trade Contracts are subject to 10% holdback. Following formal issuance of Certificate of Substantial Performance of this work the Construction Manager is to make application for the release of holdback and submit the invoice to the Owner. Payment terms will be as noted in paragraph 5 above, except payment term will be 45 days.
31. All work is to be carried out in accordance with EllisDon's Site Specific Safety Policy available for viewing at the EllisDon Site Office. The Schedule ‘C’ (Safety Policy) is to be executed, signed, and returned to EllisDon prior to the contractor starting work on site.
32. EllisDon reserves the right to modify the schedule as necessary to ensure that the overall project deadline is met. Shift premiums shall be the responsibility of the subcontractor to ensure that the schedule is met. An Itemized Schedule, from commencement of work to completion, must be submitted with the Tender Form to form part of the evaluation. Refer to APPENDIX "A" - PROJECT SCHEDULE.
33. Arrange all delivery routes and storage areas with the EllisDon Site Superintendent prior to the start of work. Provide a flagman for deliveries of material and equipment to direct traffic and pedestrians as required. When working outside of fenced areas, provide enough flagmen to keep pedestrians and workers safe.
34. The Subcontractor is hereby instructed not to entertain any direct instructions from Owner or Consultants. All instructions are to be issued through the Construction Manager. If the Sub-Contractor reacts to any direct instructions other than those from the Construction Manager this is done at the Sub-Contractor's own risk and expense entirely.
35. Quality Control Requirements
- Attend Quality Control coordination meetings as required.
- Comply with Quality Control requirements as per plans and specifications.
- Provide Quality Control documentation as requested by the Construction Manager on a Monthly Basis.
- A fixed amount of 1% of the tender price will be identified on progress billings for the submission and acceptance of Quality Control Documentation. This amount will be released at the sole discretion of the Construction Manager.
36. Site Access and Deliveries
- All related cartage, storage, hoisting, distribution costs are included.
- Includes all scaffolding, equipment lifts and other work platforms and supports as required by work of this subcontractor
- Access for the Subcontractor's deliveries and work will be coordinated with the Construction Manager’s Superintendent.
- Sub-Contractor is responsible for the repairs to any damage caused in transit or hoisting.
- Supply all necessary labour, material and equipment required to hoist all material to required areas. Supply and installation and maintenance of temporary protection to protect material deliveries to site is the responsibility of this subcontractor.
- Bidders shall review the jobsite and be fully aware of the proximity to adjacent activities and services. The subcontractor will take this into consideration during the planning and will submit procedures for the offloading, hoisting and installation for this scope of work for review by the Construction Manager prior to commencing work.
37. All escalation in material prices is included in this contract.
38. Subcontractor is to include for phasing and multiple mobilizations that may be required to complete the Work.
