Documented framework and recommendations to establish the criteria and resource implications for version control and lifecycle management of FHIR interfaces as the FHIR standards evolves towards a normative standard and beyond;
Documented recommendations for the organizational governance, roles, functions and decision points for assessing and determining the need to release updated interfaces and to deprecate existing ones with consideration of existing practices and stakeholder requirements;
Documented recommendations for the publication and maintenance processes for FHIR-based interfaces and stakeholder communication tactics with consideration of existing practices and stakeholder requirements;
Develop, document and recommend an evaluation framework to assess if eHealth Ontario and/or its stakeholders have realized quantifiable benefits through the implementation of FHIR, relative to other specifications, for (POS system) integrators and implementers;
Provide a report of the findings using the evaluation framework by completing an assessment of the eHealth Ontario and/or its stakeholders quantifiable benefits realized through the implementation of FHIR in comparison to other specifications, existing and planned, for Point of Service system integrators and implementers addressing scope to include data exchange, data content and terminology standards;
Assess and provide written recommendations to advise on tactics to maximize alignment between FHIR used in Ontario’s EHR assets and in other jurisdictions; and,
Assess and provide written recommended strategic approaches to establish eHealth Ontario as a trusted authority for how to define, implement, and manage FHIR interfaces in Ontario.
