Defence Construction Canada – Request for Abbreviated Proposals for Construction Services: RPOP021, Forward Operating Location (FOL) Iqaluit Fire Alarm Replacement, Iqaluit, Nunavut Settlement Area (NSA)
In accordance with the rules, regulations, statutes, guidelines and the professional associations of the provinces where the project will be carried out, Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is calling for Abbreviated Proposals from construction firms to replace the fire alarm system throughout the FOL Iqaluit.
DCC has confirmed that there are two (2) or more Inuit Firms on the Inuit Firm Registry that could potentially provide the required services. In accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Directive on Government Contracts (including real property leases) in the NSA, Proponents are advised that bidding for this solicitation is therefore restricted to qualified Inuit Firms that are registered and in good standing with the Inuit Firm Registry.
Information provided by the Proponents will be evaluated using the established criteria in the Request for Abbreviated Proposals. The objective of this Request for Abbreviated Proposals is to select the proponent with the highest total score.
The selected contractor will be required to hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Details concerning the Security Requirements for this project are identified in the Solicitation Documents.
The estimated construction cost of this project is in the order of magnitude of $3,056,000.00.
The Work must reach Substantial Completion no later than 609 calendar days after notification of contract award and must be completed no later than 28 calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion.
A NON-MANDATORY site visit has been arranged for the following date, time and location.

Firms that consider themselves qualified to provide these services are invited to submit their Abbreviated Proposals through the MERX Electronic Bidding System on or before the closing date and time indicated on the Electronic Bidding System.
