Defence Construction Canada – Request for Abbreviated Proposals for Construction Services: RPOP028, FOL Equipment Building Modifications, Iqaluit, Nunavut
In accordance with the rules, regulations, statutes, guidelines and the professional associations of the provinces where the project will be carried out, Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is calling for Abbreviated Proposals from construction firms to carry out modifications to the FOL Equipment Building located at Iqaluit, Nunavut.
The work for this project is comprised of the replacement of three (3) existing overhead doors and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical within the building.
DCC has confirmed that there are two (2) or more qualified Inuit Firms on the Inuit Firm Registry. In accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Directive on Government Contracts (including real property leases) in the Nunavut Settlement Area (NSA), Proponents are advised that bidding for this solicitation is therefore restricted to qualified Inuit Firms that are registered and in good standing with the Inuit Firm Registry.
Information provided by the Proponents will be evaluated using the established criteria in the Request for Abbreviated Proposals. The criteria relate to Inuit and Nunavut benefits for Inuit employment, Inuit training and skills development, subcontracting to Inuit firms, and the location of offices/facilities in the NSA. The objective of this Request for Abbreviated Proposals is to select the proponent with the highest total score.
Further to Article 800 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), CFTA does not apply to this procurement.
The selected contractor will be required to hold a valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). Details concerning the Security Requirements for this project are identified in the Solicitation Documents.
The estimated construction cost of this project is in the order of magnitude of $270,000.
The Work must reach Substantial Completion no later than 261 calendar days after notification of contract award and must be completed no later than 30 calendar days after the date of Substantial Completion.
A site visit will not be offered during the solicitation period.
