CCP/RFP/2021/7000 - HULL CAUSEWAY NORTH ABUTMENT REHABILITATION AND ROCK STABILIZATION WALL

Construction Demathieu Bard (CDB) Inc. (CDB) was selected as the Construction Manager (CM) to lead the Chaudiere Crossing Project upgrade including the Union Bridge Rehabilitation and Hull Causeway Widening for Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). The Consultant for the design and inspection for this safety boom project will be Parsons Engineering.

To allow the ongoing reconstruction works of the Chaudiere Crossing, CDB requires the Hull Causeway’s North abutment to be rehabilitated and the installation of rock stabilization. The following list is a summary, but not an all-inclusive list of what works will be required to satisfy the owners requirements.

• Provide suitable access-to-work area systems to complete the work.
• Installation of a cofferdam, along with erosion and sedimentation controls to contain in-water works.
• Provide a continuous dewatering system, so work can be performed in the dry.
• Excavating, trenching and backfill to accommodate new structural dimensions.
• Supply and install rock anchors for the North Abutment extension and Rock Stabilization Wall
• Rock removal to allow the installation of a rock anchor stabilization wall with drains and to expose Hull Causeway North Abutment face. This is so it can be cleaned, roughened to allow for proper reinforced concrete extension installation.
• Construct cast in place reinforced concrete extension of the Hull Causeway North Abutment,
• Construct cast in place reinforced Rock Stabilization Wall.
• Removal of construction material & equipment, cofferdam, dewatering system, access, and erosion and control measures.
