The DRDH provides a range of health care services including long-term care (“LTC”), primary care services and an acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency services. DRDH’s patients, residents and clients come from an area within a 50-kilometer radius which covers the Town of Deep River, part of the Town of Petawawa, and the Townships of Laurentian Hills and Head, Clara and Maria.
DRDH currently operates the Four Seasons Lodge, a 14-bed LTC home (10 permanent, 4 interim beds) at 117 Banting Drive in Deep River, Ontario. DRDH’s Board of Directors has completed a comprehensive review of the Four Seasons Lodge, which calls for redevelopment of the site to increase the facilities to provide 96 permanent LTC beds with the prospect of further program delivery in conjunction with the new development.
In March 2021 the Ministry of Long-Term Care (“MLTC”) announced that an additional 86 LTC beds were being allocated to the DRDH. The expansion will provide care to a number of individuals who are currently on the waitlist at the DRDH or who must leave the community in order to obtain LTC services. The goal of this project is not only to expand the capacity of the LTC home, but to expand on the campus of care in Deep River.
The new 96- bed LTC home is to be constructed as a separate building at 117 Banting Drive, Deep River, Ontario on the health campus.
The new facility will be built using a CCDC 2-2020 stipulated price construction contract as amended by the Supplementary Conditions.
NOTE: DRDH is currently planning another capital project of approximately 11,200 square feet on the same site. A separate RFPQ and tender process is expected to begin in June 2023 for this capital project, entitled the North Renfrew Family Health Team Building, with construction taking place between October 2023 and October 2024.
