The Hay River Family Support Centre (FSC) is a non-profit organization that provides shelter and support for women and their children escaping family violence. The FSC’s previous shelter facility had been demolished several years ago, and they now have funding support from the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT) and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to build a new women’s shelter in Hay River, Northwest Territories. Refer to the tender drawings for the exact project location.
FSC is now seeking qualified general contractors to bid on the construction of a new 1.5 storey, residential style building with 10 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, playroom and administrative office space that supports FSC operations and program objectives. The building area is 389 m2 (4,184 ft2).
Bidders must be able to provide proof that they have more than 5 years of experience in project development and building construction of facilities of similar size and scope. Bonding is required.
It is anticipated that this important community building will open its doors to those in need in summer 2022.
