This RFP is issued by Colliers Project Leaders Inc. acting on behalf of the Client - De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre, Niwasa Kendaaswin Teg and Ontario Aboriginal Housing Support Services Corporation (also known as the Biindigen Landowner Partners). This circle of established partners has come together with a shared goal to establish a new and innovative Indigenous-led Well-Being centre in the McQuesten neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ontario. This new community centre of integrated health, family, social and housing services and supports will operate under the name Biindigen Well-Being Centre. However, the Biindigen Well-Being Centre will be more than a community health centre, daycare centre and residential building, it will provide Indigenous individuals and families and the McQuesten neighbourhood with a new community centre that integrates physical and mental health, cultural and social well-being, family supports, housing services, and other social supports in one hub, becoming a potential model for future integrated health care based on reconciliation. “Biindigen” is an Anishinaabe word that means “welcome” or “come in.”
The Client is seeking to retain a Prime Consultant team for design of the Biindigen Well-Being Centre which will be located at 785 Britannia Avenue in Hamilton, Ontario. The Biindigen Well-Being Centre will include three new buildings (one building for each of the Biindigen Landowner Partners) and many shared and dedicated amenities, structures and facilities across the site. The Prime Consultant scope of work includes all-inclusive design services from programming and concept design update through to final tender-ready documents, tendering support, and contract administration during construction through substantial performance, total completion and the warranty phase. Also included is the advance demolition of an existing site building.
This procurement requires Proponent’s to demonstrate significant Indigenous experience (see documents) and to submit both a technical proposal and a password-protected financial proposal.
