Pre-qualification proposals are requested from interested General Contractors and Mechanical and Electrical Sub-Contractors for the construction of a new facility for the Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre (BQWCHC). The current facility at 70 Murphy Street, Trenton, is too small to accommodate the Community Health Center’s operations. Through the Community Health Capital Program policy, BQWCHC has been working with the Ministry of Health and LongTerm Care (MOHLTC) for the design of a new facility to replace the temporary building at 70 Murphy Street.
The new facility will be a 27,000 ft three storey building with space for a Hub on the ground floor, clinical space on the first level and group rooms and staff accommodations on the second level. The site for the facility is located on the east side of Catherine Street, east of the Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Approval from the MOHLTC to tender is anticipated to be received in Fall 2019, after which the tender package will be provided to the pre-qualified bidders. Contract award is anticipated in early 2020 following approval from the MOHLTC.
