1.1. Project Description
Structural Shoring Installation
1.2. General Description of Work
1.2.1. The following is an overview of the Work and is not complete. Bid
Documents in their entirety fully describe the Work, including items that
may only be listed here. Work includes:
i.
Installation of temporary exterior shoring along the south elevation
of Building A-West (Sports Complex).
ii.
Installation of granular bearing foundations with timber spreader
beams to support the shoring.
iii. Localized removal and disposal of the existing brick masonry
veneer to accommodate the installation of shoring connections to
the existing building perimeter steel beams.
iv.
Installation of insulation and metal flashing coverings at shoring
beam connections locations.
1.2.2. Removal of the shoring system is not included as part of the scope of
work.
1.2.3. Contract includes routine inspection of completed work by a qualified
structural engineer, and adjustment of completed work by the
Contractor per engineer’s direction, for a maximum two (2) year period
following installation. Inspection and adjustment shall be administered
under a cash allowance. Partial substantial performance shall be
awarded upon completion of all shoring installation, at which time the
two (2) year maintenance period shall commence. Substantial and total
performance shall be awarded following completion of the maintenance
period, subject to GC 5.4 as amended by Supplementary Conditions.

The site visit will commence at 2:00 PM on July 31, 2018 at the site, W.
Ross MacDonald School, 350 Brant Avenue, Brantford. Bidders are to
meet with the Project Manager in the main entrance lobby. Visitors must
be buzzed in by the front desk. If no one is present at the front desk,
press the intercom button located in the main entrance vestibule to be
admitted.
