IO, which is an agency of the Ontario Government, is a crown corporation owned by the Province of Ontario and established by the Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation Act, 2011. OILC provides customer focused real estate services to the Ontario Government, including strategic portfolio management, asset management, property and land management, and capital projects.
The Prime Consultant is expected to lead the design activities, coordinate with all the stakeholders including all disciplines as required to meet the intent of the project. The Prime Consultant will produce all deliverables, participate in the bidding phase, and administer the construction contracts with the elevator contractor.
230161 – Hydraulic Passenger Elevator Renewal (274327) – Southview Residence The Southview Residence was constructed in 1915 and located at #350 Brant Ave on the campus of the W. Ross MacDonald School in Brantford, east of the 1964-senior residence building. The residence houses approximately 13 bedrooms, 5 kitchens, 5 offices, 17 washroom facilities, 5 activity rooms, 4 lounges and 1 exterior playground area. The residence is connected to the main school (Building A) through an underground tunnel. The building had some upgrades in 1965. The building is a long rectangle with additions on the north elevation. This building has historic and architectural value or interest. It's designated as Provincial Significance (PHPPS). The scope of this project is to replace Hydraulic Cylinder and carry out a complete modernization of the elevator at Southview Residence (B10538), Brantford, ON. The scope also includes the upgrade of the controller, motor, door operator, door restrictor, barrier free upgrades, and cab finishes to meet all relevant codes, standards, and IO guidelines.
230208 – Hydraulic Passenger Elevator Renewal (274328) – Wilkes Hall Wilkes Hall is a brick 2-storey, 25,280 SF building constructed in 1964. The building has been re- purposed into office space, but until 2014 was a residence for senior students. The building is original, with no additions, and no public access. Various areas have been renovated, including Lighting upgrades (1978), Washroom renovations and upgrades (1995), Kitchen’s renovations and upgrades (1996). Site staff advised that Wilkes Hall (B10536) may not be provincially designated as a heritage building. Further investigation to be performed in the next BB assessment. Located beside the Mac House, Troughton House and connected to the New Senior Residence on the West end of W. Ross Macdonald School. All work on the campus shall be performed at 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Saturday. The construction work for these projects is to only be done in the summer months (July and August) of 2025, when the school is closed.
