IO, which is an agency of the Ontario Government, is a crown corporation owned by the Province of Ontario and established by the Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation Act, 2011. OILC provides customer focused real estate services to the Ontario Government, including strategic portfolio management, asset management, property and land management, and capital projects.
The scope of this work includes installation of 9 new light posts with two arms on each post along with its disconnect switch between Front and King Street on the PVO track. The existing lighting will remain until the new lighting is ready to be commissioned. The new lights will have all their wires buried and they will be installed in the center of the median separating Front and King Street. The new lights will extend over the four blocks as shown on the drawings. The existing traffic lights will also be replaced with a new set and a disconnect switch. A second new set of traffic signals will be installed with its disconnect switch on Queen Street as shown on the drawings. The track is currently being used by police recruits, and operational use of the track must be maintained during this work. The safety of recruits and construction workers is paramount, contractor will be responsible for ensuring site is maintained in a safe manner in accordance with OHSA requirements. Road crossing by directional boring will be required to prevent disturbance to the newly installed asphalt surface. The scope of work is to include updated lighting, connected to existing streetlights, a new set of traffic lights, and a central controller for the lighting. All electrical lines are to be buried.
