Parks Maintenance & Forestry Services of the City of Ottawa, hereinafter referred to as the City, has a requirement for qualified contractors to provide all labour, equipment, and materials for the provision of fully equipped, self-contained 4-person grass cutting crew(s) to supplement City forces for grass mowing and trimming at City parks, boulevards, roadsides, and other City-owned properties for West Parks Area in accordance with the attached terms, conditions, and specifications, (the “Work”). The West Parks Area maintenance zones are as follows:
- 3 crews for West Parks Zone WP1 - Stittsville and Kanata areas (South of Hazeldean Road) of the former municipalities of Goulbourn and Kanata (South).
- 2 crews for West Parks Zone WP2 - Kanata area (North of Hazeldean Road) of the former municipalities of Kanata (North) and West Carleton.
The Contractor’s crews shall perform all grass mowing and trimming at assigned sites, working alone or in conjunction with other City maintenance crews in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications of RFT No. 41725-98836-T02.
Then Contract must provide
for each crew:
- 1 – Pickup truck/crew cab capable of transporting the crew
- 2 - Commercial ride-on rotary type rear discharge mowers (minimum 60” cutting width)
- 1 – tow behind trailer to transport the equipment
- 2 – push mowers (minimum 21” cutting width)
- 3 – Grass trimmers
- 1 – Backpack blower
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Brooms
- Any and all safety apparel/equipment
PERIOD OF CONTRACT
The period of contract shall be for the 2025 and 2026 spring/summer/fall seasons (approximately 15 April to 15 November of each year)
All unit rates shall remain FIRM for the initial period of contract.
The City may, at its discretion, extend the period of contract for up to three (3) additional spring/summer/fall maintenance seasons, subject to satisfactory performance by the Contractor and provided the contract pricing, terms and conditions for the extended period are acceptable to the City and the Contractor.
