Transportation Services of City of Ottawa (“the City”) is requesting Request for Pre-Qualifications for the removal and disposal of OC Transpo Buses (“Equipment”) for scrap metal, by weight at several City of Ottawa OC Transpo sites. Within the City of Ottawa, we may have some units on other City properties. The applicable buses have reached the end of their lifecycle, accidented or may have suffered a thermal event and are being sold for disposal and scrap only. Buses removed and disposed of shall not be used for any other purpose. The removal and disposal of OC Transpo Buses will be on an ‘as and when requested’ basis, in accordance with scope of work, terms, and conditions of Request for Pre-Qualifications (RFQ).
The purpose of the Request for Pre-Qualification is to establish a list of pre-qualified bidders who would be placed on a list and when buses would be available the department would send out a Request for Quotation to all pre-qualified bidders outlining a set closing date and time, number of buses available and when they have to be to be off the property. Once the Request for Quotation closes the department would determine who provided the highest price per ton and contact them, if the bidder does not pickup the buses as noted in the Request for Quotation, the City will go to the next highest price per ton until all buses are gone from the Request for Quotation.
All disposals will be AS IS, WHERE IS, AS SEEN BASIS WITH NO WARRANTY expressed or implied as to the condition or fitness of the Equipment.
