Objectives of this Request for Information
Transit Operations of the City of Ottawa Transportation Services Department has a requirement to sell its current fleet of one-hundred seventy-five (175) Orion VII Hybrid Diesel/Electric and Eighty-Two (82) New Flyer D40i Invero Diesel buses and parts.
The purpose of this RFI is:
• To reach out to parties interested in the purchase of the current fleet of Orion VII Hybrid Diesel/Electric and New Flyer D40i Invero Diesel buses, in part or as a whole, to meet the City’s anticipated future requirements for the reduction of the current fleet.
This RFI is intended to solicit information only.
VENDOR INFORMATION SESSIONS:
The City is seeking meetings with organizations with the ability to provide solutions for the work contemplated in this RFI.
To qualify for an Information Session, Respondents must submit a response to the Validity Test, in Annex C.
Respondents who receive an invitation to an Information Session are requested to prepare for the meeting by reviewing the questions listed in Annex B, Requested Information.
The City reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to limit the number of Information Sessions regardless of the total number of Respondents who are deemed to have passed the Validity Test and who submit a request to attend an Information Session.
Inquiries
Unlike regulations pertaining to the release of a formal bid solicitation it is not the intention of this RFI to restrict communication in any way between the City and potential respondents. Ongoing discussions and communications between the City and these interested parties prior to the release of a potential formal bid solicitation are not only welcomed, but also encouraged. The City welcomes industry feedback and/or comments on any or all aspects of this RFI. All inquiries regarding this RFI are to be directed to the Administrative Authority specified herein. Inquiries must be received in writing (e-mail) no later than Monday, 13 August, 2018. All inquiries received, and the answers as provided by the Project Authority will be provided to all Respondents by way of written addenda without naming the source of the inquiry. Addenda may be issued throughout the period of the RFI, with the last addendum issued no later than Wednesday, 15 August, 2018.
