The City of Ottawa as part of the Digital Services Strategy (DSS) is looking to use technology to increase client experience, improve data quality & information access and make services more readily available to residents. Smart screens were identified in 2018 as a potential opportunity to deliver on this objective. A Smart screen for City Hall is an initiative to improve the effectiveness of wayfinding, events listings, real-time information dissemination and client service assistance in City Hall.
To achieve this objective, the project will install one 42’’ single sided angled screen kiosk close to the information desk in City Hall with multi-lingual display content. The software solution must be able to integrate with voice assistants, an Application Programming Interface (API) – City’s and 3rd party, support 3D wayfinding maps, information search, and single-queuing system. Further to this, the content management system must be a single sign-on (SSO) integration using Microsoft Azure Active Directory, SSO integration using Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) version 2.0 and if using a stand-alone login-in process, the Contractor must enforce strong alphanumeric passwords. Overall, the product reports for AODA and WCAG AA compliance need to be satisfactory to the City.
The Contractor is expected to provide hardware and software support after go-live until project close-out on March 3rd, 2020.
