15221-97534-T02 - PWES/WS/ Rental of Backhoe and Tri-Axle for Water Distribution Work

The City of Ottawa, Water Services has a requirement for the rental of one (1) backhoe with operator and one (1) tri-axle with operator to respond to emergency watermain repair operations and for planned work as described in the terms, conditions, and specifications of RFT No. 15221-97534-T02. 

The following is a list of equipment required by the City for this tender. A bidder may bid on one or both pieces of equipment for this tender.

Backhoe (Caterpillar Model 420F or equivalent) with:
•          4-wheel drive
•          Rubber-tired
•          Minimum rated horsepower:93
•          Enclosed cab
•          General purpose bucket with teeth
•          Minimum 1.0 cubic yard to maximum 2.0 cubic yard struck front bucket capacity
•          Roof-mounted warning lights (yellow and blue)
•          Slow-moving vehicle sign
•          Hoe Ram Attachment
•          Quick couplers on the Hoe Ram attachment and bucket – minimum 1200 lbs capacity with Hoeram

Tri-Axle with:
•          Roof-mounted warning lights (yellow and blue)
•          Slow-moving vehicle sign
•          The tri-axle shall not be equipped with a roll off box. The Tri-axle must be licensed to haul upwards of 30,000 lbs.

The period of contract shall commence on the date of issuance of a purchase order and shall end on 30 April 2021.  

The City may, at its discretion, extend the period of contract for three (3) additional six (6) month terms (November 1st to April 30th).
