Description

Field measure the existing structure and produce construction drawings detailing the plan, profile and various section(s) of the existing bridge;
Review the hydraulic capacity of the existing bridge and compare to Chippewa Creek flow at Cassells Street. Available reports will be forwarded to the awarded consultant;
Complete a detailed visual inspection of the structure (including sub-structure) as per the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM).
Extract 7 cores from the structure and physically test for existing strength and chloride levels. The inside of the core holes will be examined to determine the visual condition of each core;
Complete a bridge deck condition survey detailing the corrosion potential and concrete delamination in accordance with ASTM 876 (latest edition) and the MTO Structure Rehabilitation Manual;
Determine methods of widening both ends of the Cassells Street Bridge based on the anticipated typical cross-section for the widened street;
Provide traffic control and signage as per Ontario Traffic Manuals for all services;
All test locations that physically altered the structure by the condition survey including cores, will be repaired to its original state as approved by the City of North Bay.
