Project Description  
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation to subcontractors for the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre Renewal project, located at 322 Amherst Drive, Loyalist ON K7N 1S9. The project will involve the construction of a new aquatic facility as well as renovations to the existing building.  
The proposed new aquatic facility will include an eight-lane (8-lane), twenty-five metre (25 m) pool and a leisure pool, as well as a viewing area, storage rooms, hallways, emergency exits, and associated mechanical components.  
Various areas of the existing facility will be renovated, converted, or generally upgraded as part of the project. This will include, but may not be limited to, the following:  

1. decommissioning the existing pool and converting it into useable space which will include a universal change room, wet classroom, and administrative areas;  
2. replacing the arena’s existing ice pad, boards, and glass;  
3. upgrading and renovating the changing rooms associated with the arena;  
4. renovating offices, staff rooms, work areas, meeting rooms, and the canteen area;  
5. creating a reception area central to the facility;  
6. improving the accessibility of various areas of the existing buildings, which will include the installation of an elevator as well as the renovation of changerooms, washrooms, and various viewing areas;  
7. replacing sections of the roof that have reached the end of their useful life; and  
8. installing or replacing any mechanical components associated with the items above
