CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking information from the industry in response to this Request for Information (“RFI”) for a Converged IT and Media platform over Wide Area Network (WAN).
1. OBJECTIVE:
The main purpose of this RFI is to survey the market to learn about the latest technologies available. This is an opportunity to re-engineer CBC/Radio-Canada’s WAN foundations on which runs both typical corporate IT traffic and specialized functions such as Media files delivery, telephony and IPTV. More importantly, it is also the backbone for the Audio/Video (A/V) codecs that facilitate the daily live contributions of content amongst the 55+ CBC / Radio-Canada’s Radio and Television facilities across the country and in key cities around the world. It is also envisioned that a layer of orchestration would manage A/V codecs and IT traffic bandwidth reservation on the network.
It is an opportunity to learn about the technology your company has to offer and hear about how you have helped other broadcasters with similar projects.
CBC/Radio-Canada will be conducting a Webinar Presentation in English on Wednesday June 10, 2020 at 10h00am EST and in French on Wednesday June 10, 2020 at 14h00 EST.
2. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION:
This Webinar is opened only to Participants who:
2.1 Sign and return the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
3. TO REQUEST PARTICIPATION
As CBC/Radio-Canada uses MERX (www.merx.com/cbc/radio-canada) to manage its solicitation process, all Participants must obtain the RFI documents through MERX. The MERX Quick Get Started Steps for new users is available through this link: (http://bit.ly/2NW0a93).
To have access to the Webinar, Participants must submit the NDA completed and signed by a duly authorized representative before June 9, 2020 at 14h00, EST.
The document(s) to be completed and signed must be submitted to the CBC/Radio-Canada Representative for this RFI (see item 4 below for co-ordinates). Upon receipt of the signed NDA CBC/Radio-Canada will send an email providing the details for the Webinar.
4. COMMUNICATION WITH CBC/RADIO-CANADA
Any contact with CBC/Radio-Canada at this stage of the RFI must be undertaken by e-mail only, which will be addressed to the CBC/Radio-Canada Representative for this RFI, whose co-ordinates appear below. CBC/Radio-Canada est à la recherche de renseignements auprès de l'industrie en réponse à la présente Demande de renseignements («DR») pour une Plateforme informatique et multimédia convergée sur un réseau étendu (WAN).
1. OBJECTIF:
Le but principal de cette DR est de sonder le marché pour découvrir les dernières technologies disponibles. C'est l'occasion de réorganiser les fondations WAN de CBC/Radio-Canada sur lesquelles s'exécutent à la fois le trafic informatique d'entreprise et des fonctions spécialisées telles que la livraison de fichiers multimédias, la téléphonie et l’IPTV. Plus important encore, il est également l'épine dorsale des codecs audio/vidéo (A/V) qui facilitent les contributions quotidiennes en direct parmi les quelques 55 sites de Radio et de Télévision de CBC/Radio-Canada partout au pays et à travers le monde. Il est également envisagé qu'une couche d'orchestration gère les codecs A/V et la réservation de bande passante du trafic informatique sur le réseau.
C'est l'occasion pour les Répondants de présenter la technologie de leur entreprise et pour CBC/Radio-Canada de découvrir comment les Répondants ont aidé d'autres diffuseurs avec des projets similaires.
CBC/Radio-Canada tiendra une présentation webinaire en anglais le mercredi 10 juin 2020 à 10h00 HNE et en français le mercredi 10 juin 2020 à 14h00 HNE.
2. EXIGENCES OBLIGATOIRES POUR PARTICIPER :
Le webinaire est ouvert seulement aux Répondants qui:
2.1 Signent et retournent l'entente de non-divulgation.
3. DEMANDE DE PARTICIPATION
Tous les Répondants doivent se procurer la documentation de la DR par MERX (www.merx.com/cbc/radio-canada), le système utilisé par CBC/Radio-Canada pour la gestion des appels d’offres. Pour participer au webinaire, le Répondant doit fournir l’entente de non-divulgation remplie et signée par un représentant avant le 9 juin 2020, 14h00 HNE.
La documentation à remplir et à signer doit être envoyée au représentant de CBC/Radio-Canada responsable de cette DR (se reporter à la section 4 ci-dessous pour ses coordonnées). Sur réception de l’entente signée, CBC/Radio-Canada fournira par courriel les détails de connection pour le webinaire.
4. COMMUNICATIONS AVEC CBC/RADIO-CANADA
À cette étape du processus de la DR, toute communication avec CBC/Radio-Canada doit se faire par courriel seulement et être adressée au représentant de CBC/Radio-Canada responsable de la présente DR, dont les coordonnées figurent ci-dessous. Tous les courriels se rapportant à la présente DR doivent comporter le numéro de référence de la DR (DR # MTIS20200506) dans la ligne de mention « Objet ».
