Description

Founded in 1988, Casey House is Ontario’s first and only HIV/AIDS hospital. Our Founders believed that everyone deserves to be cared for with dignity and compassion, so they created new approaches to provide palliative and sub-acute care for inpatients as well as Outpatient clients living with HIV/AIDS. Casey House’s purpose is to “transform lives and health care through compassion and social justice.”

In fiscal 2023 Casey House expects to deliver:

Care for +700 clients via the Outpatient Clinic who came for ~30k visits in 2022-2023
Provide 5,000 days of inpatient care

We approach healthcare with an understanding that health is impacted by the broader determinants of health and our work is to provide care within the context of people’s lives, choices, communities, and life circumstances.

Originally Casey House Hospice opened its doors in 1988 and resided at 9 Huntley Street. In May 2017, Casey House (now a Hospital) moved to a new location at 119 Isabella Street with 42,370 square feet, 14 inpatient beds where care is provided 24x7 and a Day Health Program which operates daily, Monday to Friday.

Casey House focuses on both medical needs and the social determinants of health needs to improve the health and wellness of the community.

We support patients by connecting them to a coordinated, comprehensive team of primary, specialty, and other health care professionals upon whom they can rely and work with to achieve their personal health goals.

Casey House houses approximately 15 Allied Healthcare providers, 3 full-time equivalent physicians, 10 full-time equivalent nurses and 10 administrative staff who serve the needs of approximately 750 complex care, high needs outpatients and 5000 annual inpatient days.
