At a site located at 17255 Yonge St, Newmarket, Ontario, the Canadian Mental Health Association York Region / South Simcoe (CMHA) proposes to renovate an existing 29,000 sf warehouse building built in the 1960s, with a Class E occupancy, into the York Region Mental Health Community Care Hub (The Hub), withovernight stay for 20 short term clients and ambulatory reach. Built in the 1960s as a warehouse, the building will be renovated and subdivided into 2 spaces to include 21,000 sf of class B2 program, inclusive of 20 short term private overnight stay rooms with washrooms, staff areas, meeting spaces, counselling spaces and support services for the entire building. The remainder of the space will be made prepared for base building services, (unfinished shell space) with room for expansion of the proposed program.
This is a Ministry of Health Community Care funded project, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Health. Tenders will be by invitation only, selected from the list of up to 6 (six) prequalified contractors to be completed following a CCDC-2-2020 contract. In the event that one or more pre-qualified Respondents choose not to respond to the invitation to submit a bid, CMHA reserves the right to invite the next best scoring Respondent (who was not shortlisted) to submit a bid.
