Project Description
2.1 Objective of Project
The major activity of this project is to conduct a national public opinion poll of Canadian drivers concerning their knowledge, perceptions, attitudes, and self-reported behaviour on several road safety issues.
A public opinion poll or survey of Canadian drivers’ knowledge, understanding and awareness of general road safety issues can provide perspectives about what drivers view as priority concerns including:

their level of concern towards various road safety problems,
their views about how to address them and,
their general knowledge and understanding about safe driving practices.

Information obtained from a road safety survey can be used to identify areas where road safety awareness needs improvement, help inform development of road safety initiatives and programs and guide policy-makers in decision-making. The project is national in scope. The poll will include a random sample of Canadian drivers that is representative of all regions of the country and all age and sex subgroups.
