Creating Awareness about the Canadian Apprenticeship Service Amongst
Small-to-Medium Sized Employers. The Canadian Apprenticeship Service provides grants to small-to-medium sized employers who hire and train apprentices. Here are the criteria: Small-to-medium sized employers may hire 2 Level 1 apprentices per year. The first year of the program ends March 31, 2023. The second year of the program ends March 2024. If the apprentice is not from an equity priority group, the employer receives $5,000 per apprentice. If the apprentice is from an equity priority group, the employer receives $10,000 per apprentice. CAF-FCA has a list of 50,000 small-to-medium sized employer phone numbers from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec. CAF-FCA is looking for a bilingual call center or survey house to call these employers on the phone. The purpose is to: create awareness about the Canadian Apprenticeship Service among employers by providing information about the grant criteria and how to apply for the grant through the Apprenticesearch.com website: CAS (apprenticesearch.com) share information about the wraparound supports provided including job matching and helpful courses about mentoring, construction ethics, and respectful workplaces. Each call will take less than 5 minutes based on a short script that that the contractor will write. CAF-FCA will translate the script into French for the contractor.
