The scope of the work required by Bruce Power is as follows:
Contracted provider shall provide and deliver to Bruce Power:
1. "advice to pay" recommendation for all salary continuance sick leave plan absences due to illness or non-occupational injury with a duration beyond 'x' days based on medical documentation and without input from Bruce Power
2. Identification, authorization, monitoring and co-ordination of the required activities and services to support the claimant's recovery and early return to work.
3. Uniform procedures that transition a claimant from salary continuance sick leave to long term disability (ltd) carrier (if applicable).
4. Refer claimant to employee assistance program provider, as needed.
6. Recommendations and coordination, as appropriate, for adjunct services and resources, which may include; independent medical examinations, second opinions, reactivation and physical rehabilitation recommendations/referrals, functional and/or cognitive abilities/capacity evaluations, access to preferred provider networks and specialty clinical referrals or consultations.
7. Provide proactive return-to-work case management, including recommendations for referrals to resources that may provide additional recovery support and opportunities for proactive GRTW and accommodated RTW plans.
8. Communicate regularly with employees who are off work, their managers, and Bruce Power employee wellness team members. Work collaboratively with Bruce Power Occupational Health Nurses, and provide regular case updates to Bruce Power by email and telephone, as required, and at weekly case management virtual meetings.
9. Provide monthly reports including severity rate of absences, returns from absence (before expected return date), savings resulting from return-to-work in modified status, breakdown of absences by medical condition, cases open, cases closed, time lost by case type, costs and claims duration report and any other types of reports that are available.
10. Provide detailed quarterly and year-end reviews which contain relevant data and metrics, to include absence duration, case demographics, diagnostic categories and BoB comparative data, to include industry specifics, where possible.
11. Provide recommendations for policy and disability management program changes as appropriate to ensure positive outcomes alignment with industry best practices.
12. Provide subject matter expertise on disability management best practice, including any relevant legislative practices or processes not captured within this scope of work.
13. Contractor to be available for periodic visits to facilitate understanding of the workplace and job requirements. Contractor available to attend weekly virtual meetings and attend onsite on mutually agreed upon occasions.
14. Complex case management process and resources which provide appropriate medical case review, including physician to physician meetings to expedite case management strategy and provide opportunities for recovery support strategies and early and safe return to work
15. Services provided by professional, experienced case managers, with a focus on effective resource use, and optimized treatment opportunities to support early and safe return to work and recovery
16. Focused case management strategies for mental health related absences to support recovery and return to work.
