Description

We are pleased to invite qualified subcontractors to express their interest in participating in a construction project involving the renovation of three existing building spaces. This public solicitation is open to all experienced subcontractors who meet the qualifications outlined below.
Project Overview:

Project Name: Seymour Street Renovation Project
Location: North Bay, Ontario
Scope of Work: Renovation of three existing building spaces, including but not limited to, interior demolition, framing, drywall installation, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and finishes.
Estimated Start Date: October, 2024
Estimated Completion Date: Spring, 2025

Qualifications:

Proven experience in commercial renovation projects of similar scope and complexity.
Appropriate licensing and certifications as required by local, federal and provincial regulations.
Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
Compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Submission Requirements:
Interested subcontractors should submit the following information:

Company Information:
- Company name, address, and contact details.
- Brief company history and overview.
- List of key personnel and their qualifications.
- Name and contact information for individuals who will be attending the mandatory job walk
Experience:
- Description of relevant project experience, including project names, locations, scopes of work, and completion dates.
- References from previous clients for similar projects.
Licensing and Certifications:
- Copies of relevant licenses and certifications.
- Proof of insurance coverage.
Additional Information:
- Any other relevant information or documentation that demonstrates your company’s qualifications and ability to perform the work.

Mandatory Job Walk:
A mandatory job walk for all interested bidders will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 1:00 PM EST. This will provide an opportunity to view the project site, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the scope of work. Attendance is mandatory to be considered for this project.

Selection Process:
All submissions will be reviewed based on qualifications and experience. Following the job walk, a full bid package will be prepared and selected subcontractors will be invited to submit detailed quotes. Anticipated release of bid package is mid-September 2024.

Additional Bidding Instructions

Subcontractor must demonstrate they are in good standing with the applicable Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (Clearance Certificate);
Subcontractor must demonstrate current General Liability Insurance coverage where in the following must be included in the particulars: (1) Certificate Holder must be shown as Black & McDonald Limited with our Ottawa address (2) Additional Insured should be naming Black & McDonald Limited (3) Cancellation of the Certificate should read 30 days (4) Description of Work should say Various Projects or/should be Project specific.
Subcontractor must agree to comply with B&M Code of Conduct and HSE Policies
Subcontractor must provide HSE credit check, HSE policy for review and HSE contact information
Subcontractor must complete the New/Change Address Book Record Request Form including the EFT Direct Deposit Authorization Form

Please ensure a "VOID" cheque or banking slip with the company name and account information printed on it is included with the submission.

For the Certificate of Insurance, these must be exact or the certificate will be sent back for corrections.

Must name Black & McDonald Limited as Certificate Holder
Must name Black & McDonald Limited as Additional Insured on Commercial Liability
Please use full address: 2460 Don Reid Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1H 1E1.
Must endeavor to provide at least 30 days' written notice of cancellation to Black & McDonald Limited on the CGL, should the insurance policy be cancelled before the expiration date thereof.
Must confirm at least $2,000,000 of Commercial General Liability coverage
Must confirm at least $1,000,000 of Auto coverage - Non-Owned Automobile coverage
Must include All Owned, Leased Automobiles and/or Described Vehicles
Under Description of operations please state “Various Projects” or “Evidence of Insurance”
