Project Name: Sloped Glazing Partial IGU Replacement

BGIS Global Integrated Solutions Canada LP (BGIS) on behalf of the Infrastructure Ontario Corporation is inviting Consultant firms to submit proposals to provide professional services as detailed in BGIS’s Request for Proposal.
BGIS requires the services of a qualified Consultant for the following project and scope of services:
Description of Project
The intent of this project is to remove and replace Sloped glazing IGUs at the atrium, which are actively leaking.The sloped glazing system over the atrium is supported by structural steel framing (540 m², 5813 ft²). The system incorporates double glazed IGUs in prefinished aluminum frames, and is original to the building addition of 1990. Consultant shall arrange for suspended access, apply needle glazing along high side of horizontal mullion and along verticals (900 m). Capping is required where the slope ties into the building. Tie-ins at the curtain wall are required. The glass also ties into the side of the building with the Heritage designation, a Heritage consultant is required under the scope of the consultant.
Construction is to be completed on weekends as work can't be completed at night and no noisy work during the day.
Work must be coordinated to ensure that the building is kept air tight, there are sensitivities to weather and animals.
A solution to matching the existing tint is required ahead of Tender to the general contractor.
Explorative work is required to confirm how or if the curtain wall ties in to the existing wall.
There are no known impacts to Electrical or Mechanical systems.
Project Deliverables
As per IO and BGIS policy, the Tender Documents are prohibited from containing any reference to brand names, product names, product numbers, etc. The consultant is required to include references to performance criteria only, unless stated otherwise within the IO Design Guidelines. Exemptions must be pre-approved by the BGIS project manager and may include items which are required to be named out of necessity of compatibility with existing equipment.
- Upon substantial completion, the Consultant shall forward to the Contractor the completed and signed Form 6 (Substantial Performance Certificate). The Form 6 is to be submitted no later than three (3) business days following Substantial Completion.
- At the time of Substantial Completion, the consultant is responsible to obtain one (1) hardcopy & two (2) electronic copies of the Operations & Maintenance Manuals from the General Contractor. They are to be reviewed & approved by the consultant and submitted to BGIS along with one (1) hardcopy set of record drawings plus two (2) editable electronic CAD files in accordance with “IO CAD Standards” on a portable electronic memory device. The consultant shall provide documentary proof to BGIS that the drawings were completed in accordance with IO CAD Standards
- All Operations & Maintenance manuals are required to be compliant with the current IO Design & Commissioning Guidelines (Refer to Schedule B of the 2017 IO Building Systems Commissioning Guideline).

A mandatory teleconference call and briefing will be held at 11:00:00 AM EST on February 6th, 2018 to discuss issues related to the RFP. (Failure to attend will result in disqualification).
Proposals will be received no later than 14:00:00 local time February 13th, 2018. Late or misdirected proposals will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.
