BGIS requires the services of a qualified Consultant for the following project and scope of services:
Description of Project:
The project is for the replacement of the Grinder Pump System and associated concrete enclosure (REQ-178867) and the Travel Lift System (REQ-178866) at the sewage treatment plant at the above address. This building serves as the primary sewage treatment facility for the site and is managed by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). Sewage treatment on-site begins with the collection of sanitary waste through sanitary pipes from most buildings on-site which travels to the sewage pump station (B11822) or directly to the sanitary main which runs along the east side of the main access road into the site. Sewage is pumped or flows by gravity to the sewage treatment plant through an 8" asbestos and cement sanitary pipe. The facility is the central collection point for sewage treatment on the MacFarlane Lake Complex.

The Sewage Treatment Plant (B20584) is a single story, non-prominent, low-profile structure built in 1976 with cast-in-place (CIP) foundation walls and floor slab, veneer brick with concrete masonry unit backup, and asphalt covered gable roof. The gross square footage of the building is 1,908 sq. ft. Approximately one third of the building is office and lab space, and the other two thirds of the building is taken up by plant equipment utilized in the processing of sewage. The Sewage Treatment Plant is situated immediately west of the Sewage Sludge Plant just north of MacFarlane Lake at the south end of the main access road on-site from Hwy 69.

Description of Services
The successful consultant will design and prepare tender-ready documents, along with perform contract administration duties through construction and project close-out.

The consultant is to ensure that their design and the installation of the new equipment satisfies all regulatory requirements for a Class I, Division II waste water treatment facility. In addition, the consultant is to verify the scope of work with the onsite OCWA Technicians for construction in FY 2020/21. Asbestos containing materials are present onsite and a site-specific DSS will be required. Photos are attached as Appendix A.

The successful consultant is required to provide/comply with the following:

• Site access visits to be coordinated with the site and CBRE FM, OCWA and/or Technician and/or building occupants.
• Work will occur during regular and outside of business hours only to ensure continuous operation of the WWTP.
• Access to the building should remain available at all times.
• For all Power Interruptions, Consultant is required to Complete the CRFC forms as per Infrastructure Ontario Guidelines.  This must be submitted with a complete Method of Procedure. Power Shutdown/Interruption approval time is a minimum of 20 business days.
